About this resource
An apple sorting task box with three real levels, not one page printed three times. Students sort red, yellow and green apples by color, then small, medium and big apples by size, then sort by color and size together. Cut, look, glue. Each level has its own sort mat.
WHAT IS INCLUDED - 15 pages
- Teacher page: what's inside, the three levels, how to run it, set up
- Apple words page: vocabulary, sentence frames and ways to extend the activity
- Talk About Apples page: questions to ask, a few plain facts about apples and ways to make it real
- Level 1, sort by color: a mat with three bins (red, yellow, green), a faint twin of each apple already in its bin so students can match first, and a cut page of 12 apples
- Level 2, sort by size: a mat with three bins (small, medium, big), apples in mixed colors so only size decides, and a cut page of 12 apples
- Level 3, color and size together: a mat with a grid of six boxes (red, yellow and green, each small and big), a cut page of 12 apples
- An ink-saver (black and white) copy of the Level 2 mat and cut page
- Answer key and a teacher data sheet
Pieces are 12 big squares in a 3 by 4 grid that touch edge to edge, so there are as few cuts as possible. Every apple is drawn for this product.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a print, cut and glue sorting task box. It is NOT a digital or interactive file. No prices are printed inside the PDF.
Who This Is For
Special education and early elementary teachers who need independent work for colors, sizes and sorting, with a fall apple theme.
