About this resource
Six holiday word search sets, one download. Groundhog Day, Spring, Earth Day, St Patricks Day, April Fools and Kindness each come with nine puzzles at three levels, so a kindergartener, a second grader and a third grader at one table can each get a page that fits. Use them one at a time as each holiday comes around, or keep the whole set in a binder for early finishers all year.

Every one of the six sets has the same parts:
- 9 word searches at three levels, 3 at each level, 54 puzzles across the bundle. Each puzzle has its own word list.
- Starting level (K-1): a 7 by 7 grid with 5 words. Words go left to right only, one word to a row, and a picture word list shows what to find.
- Building level (grade 2): an 8 by 8 grid with 6 words, across and down.
- Ready for more (grade 3): a 10 by 10 grid with 8 words, in all eight directions.
- 57 hidden words in each set: 15 at the starting level, 18 at building, 24 at ready for more.
- 3 scramble pages, one for each level, 17 words in all in each set: put the letters in order with a picture, fix the word from a word bank, or use a clue.
- A draw-and-write page, a make-your-own word search page and a "when I am done" picture menu for early finishers.
- 3 answer keys, one per level, with every puzzle solved and the row, column and direction of every word.
- For you: a Start Here page, a binder cover with a spine label and divider tabs, a class data page, a family letter and a thank-you page with the terms of use. The Kindness set also has a page of kind acts to pick from.
The levels are marked with a circle, a square and a triangle beside the name line instead of a number, so children at one table are not comparing papers. Grade labels are a starting guess; hand each child the level that feels good and move up when it is easy.
Every student page has a big "My name" line and one short instruction with a picture. Grid letters are big and the starting level shows a picture beside every word.
One Holiday At A Time, Or All Year
Groundhog Day word work for February, Kindness for a kindness week, Spring for the first warm days, St Patricks Day and April Fools for March and April, Earth Day for April. Each set stands on its own. Your team decides which level each child works on.
Print And Go
Print and hand out with crayons or pencils, or slip a puzzle into a sheet protector and circle words with a dry-erase marker. Print at 100 percent. The only cutting is the optional binder spine label. These are print-and-go PDFs: they are not fillable, and they are not Google Slides, not Google Docs and not PowerPoint. All six files work offline with no account. Printing supplies are not included.
