- 24 one-page passages: 12 stories and 12 fact texts, 123 sentences in all (788 words), each with a picture
- 72 questions, 3 on every page: 24 multiple choice (the right choice is a, b or c in turn), 24 answer-in-a-sentence with two writing lines, 24 draw-it or write-it (13 with a box to draw in and a word to write, 11 with three lines for a sentence)
- A "My name" and date line at the top of every passage page
- An answer key on 2 pages, with a sample answer for every question

How It Works
1. Pick a story or a fact text and print the page.
2. The child reads the passage, or you read it first and the child reads it back.
3. The child answers the three questions and checks the answer in the passage.
4. Check with the key; record it on the tracker.
Built For The Child Holding The Page
A big "My name" line, one short instruction with a small picture, big print, a scalloped border and room to write and draw. Nothing on a student page is written for an adult: the key, tracker and notes are on separate teacher pages. A small circle or square at the foot of the page marks a story or a fact text.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
Who This Is For
First grade teachers, special education teachers, interventionists and families who want short reading passages with questions that stay close to the text.
