About this resource

3D shape sort cut and paste in three true levels, not one page printed three times. Students cut out cubes, spheres, cones, cylinders, pyramids and rectangular prisms, then glue each solid in its bin. Level 1 is errorless: a faint outline of the right solid is already printed in each bin, so the student can match first. Level 2 takes the outline away and asks for the solid's name across six bins. Level 3 sorts the same kind of solids a different way: can roll, can stack or both.

WHAT IS INCLUDED - 25 pages

Every solid is drawn in the same six colors, so color is never the clue, and each solid comes in several sizes, so size is never the clue either. The solids sit edge to edge in a grid, so cutting is straight lines only. All solids are drawn vectors with flat light, medium and dark tints, not clip art or generated images.

How This Differs From Our 3D Shape Probes

Bright Path Sped also sells 3D shape progress-monitoring probes. Those are assessment probes. This is a hands-on sort for the table: students cut, sort and glue, and you keep your own data on the sheet if you choose.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a print, cut and glue sorting task box. It is NOT a digital or interactive file. No prices are printed inside the PDF.

Who This Is For

Special education, preschool, kindergarten and early elementary teachers who need independent work for naming and sorting 3D solids, and the paraprofessionals and subs who run it.
