About this resource

EVERYTHING INSIDE — 19 pages, 113 type-in fields

An actions-and-movements vocabulary binder built on one eight-word bank (dancing, walking, running, waving, clapping, sleeping, cartwheel, kneeling) run through two different boards — naming and requesting any of the eight at the first board, then sorting the same eight by whether the picture shows the whole body or just hands or a face at the second, each with its own tracker row. Most matching binders stop at the board; this one adds the tracker, the family update and the phrase bank behind it, so a week of matching practice turns into a week of counts a case manager can bring to a meeting.

The Boards

The Words

Every picture was chosen to be named in one word by a young child, in color AND in the black-and-white set.

Why Two Words Are Not The Ceo'S Original Candidates

The original eight-word candidate list for this binder named "jumping" and "sitting." Neither is a real picture in either art set: the codepoint given for "jumping" is actually a SMIRKING FACE, and the codepoint given for "sitting" is actually a generic standing ADULT figure — no dedicated "person jumping" or "person sitting" glyph exists in either set this store draws from. Rather than ship the wrong picture under the wrong word, both were replaced before the word bank was finalized: cartwheel (a real, dedicated "person doing a cartwheel" picture) stands in for jumping, and kneeling (a real, dedicated "kneeling person" picture) stands in for sitting. Every one of the eight words in the finished binder is a genuine, correctly named picture in both the color and ink-saver sets.

WHY "WHOLE BODY OR HANDS AND FACE" IS A PICTURE SPLIT, NOT A RULE ABOUT EFFORT

The second board sorts by what each PICTURE shows: dancing, walking, running, cartwheel and kneeling are each drawn as a full standing or posed figure in both sets. Waving, clapping and sleeping are each drawn as a hand, two hands or a face alone, with no full figure in either set. The split is checkable by looking at the card, the same way this collection's other sort boards (has-fins-or-not, furry-or-not) split on a physical feature the picture itself shows. Nothing on this binder says one kind of movement matters more than the other, and nothing describes how to physically assist or guide a movement.

Word-Bank Note On Shared Pictures

Two of this binder's eight pictures are also used, under different wording, elsewhere in this collection: "sleeping" is the same picture this store's Feelings and Emotions binder uses for "tired" on a feelings board, and "walking" is the same picture the Personal Information and Safety binder uses on its Getting to School board. Neither product uses the picture the same way — one names a feeling, one names a street-crossing context, and this binder names a plain movement word alongside seven others — so no card here duplicates another product's board.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a fillable PDF: type into the tracker, the organizer, the home page and the family update, or print and use a pen. The board pages print on cardstock or plain paper; the card band cuts off the bottom and the board stays whole. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a test of anything.

It carries no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule, and it does not decide what a count means for a student or when a board is done with. It does not describe how to physically assist or guide a movement. The tracker counts which boards were done and what help was given, and nothing else.

Who This Is For

Special education teachers and paraprofessionals running functional-vocabulary or naming practice with early, pre-reading or low-verbal students, case managers who need that practice to show up as data, and the families who get the home page.

More In The Collection

This binder is part of the Morning Work & Adapted Books Collection; more matching binders are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same boards-plus-tracker shape.
