About this resource
Teaching angle relationships and need pages students can actually work on? This is a complete unit for grades 7-8 on finding angle measures: complementary, supplementary, vertical, adjacent and linear pair angles, then parallel lines cut by a transversal (corresponding, alternate interior, alternate exterior and same-side interior). Every picture is a clean vector diagram drawn to scale from the numbers on the page, so a 112 degree angle really is 112 degrees. Students name the pair, find the missing angle with numbers, then solve for x when the angles are written as expressions like (3x + 10), all with real room to show their work. Answer keys show every angle.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (43 pages)
- 28 student pages in 13 kinds of page, each with a name line and one short instruction
- 98 scored items on 22 sheets, every answer computed by program from the same numbers that draw the figure
- 2 vocabulary pages: the five angle pairs with a drawn example and a fill-in blank each, then the eight angles a transversal makes, with the four named pairs and a picture of each
- 2 worked examples (one with numbers, one with x), each with a guided copy for students to fill in
- 16 Name the Pair pictures on 4 sheets: check every word that fits, then name the pair on parallel lines
- 1 Eight Angles page: one given angle, find the other seven, name three pairs
- 16 missing-angle problems on 4 sheets (no x): adjacent and apart, crossing lines, parallel lines
- 16 solve-for-x problems on 4 sheets: angles written as expressions, with a ruled work box, then each angle
- 8 Find the Mistake problems on 2 sheets (an invented student's work, one mistake each)
- 1 Make Your Own page with 3 prompts
- 8 quiz items on 2 quizzes; 6 exit tickets on 2 sheets; 1 self check (8 statements)
- 18 cut-and-paste pieces on 3 sort mats (6 pieces into 3 boxes each: complementary, supplementary or neither; corresponding, alternate or same-side; equal, add to 180 or add to 90)
- 4 answer key pages; 1 tracker, 1 class grid, 1 team note, 1 family page
- 1 filled example (an invented student), 1 phrase bank (17 starters in 6 groups)
- Start Here and a how-to-read-a-page page
Built For The Student Holding The Page
A "My name" line, one short instruction with a small picture cue, and a plain scalloped border. Nothing on a student page is written for an adult: the keys and records are on separate teacher pages. Work boxes hold three or more ruled lines with a place for the answer beside them. Clip art is kept to a lightbulb, a question mark and a pencil; the angle diagrams are drawn by us. The file prints clean in black and white.
Invented Examples
Every angle, expression and story is made up for practice and says so. The filled example names an invented student.
Type In, Or Print
The name line, every answer box, every check box and every ruled work box are type-in fields in any PDF reader: click one, type, then save. You can also print any page. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
An angle relationships practice set with the record-keeping around it. It is not a timed test, a screener, a clinical tool, or a claim about any student's age or rate of progress. There is no IEP goal language or eligibility wording anywhere in the file, and it does not claim to match any one state's standards: there is a line on the tracker for your own.
