About this resource
This is the single-routine version of our Bathroom and Handwashing Sequence Cards pack: the same 5 Bathroom Routine cards, cut down to their own smaller file for a classroom that only needs this one routine, with two things the bigger pack does not carry at all — sequencing practice forms and a caseload summary for a whole goal group. A classroom that also runs a handwashing sequence is better served by the two-routine pack, named on the last page; the two share the same card size and log codes, so nothing has to be relearned.
The Strip And The Cards
- The strip: all 5 steps in reading order, at a glance, for a wall or door
- The cards (5) — knock, go, toilet paper, flush, wash hands: the same 5 steps, cut apart so one can travel with the student, be swapped, or sit on a ring
- Printed twice: a full-color set and a black-and-white ink-saver set, for a photocopier or a spare
Every picture is drawn and checked to be named in one word, in color AND in the black-and-white set, before it was used; the "Flush" card is a composite (the same toilet picture used for "Go," plus a drop of water) specifically so it never reads as the same card as "Go" two steps earlier. Cards are 2 inches square.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, the roll-up, the caseload grid, the sequencing practice boxes, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. The card and strip pages print on cardstock or plain paper; the cards cut along dashed lines. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
It is a posted, numbered picture sequence for one everyday routine, and a place to record whether each step needed help. It is NOT a hygiene or safety procedure, a behavior plan, or a program of any kind, and it promises no outcome. It supplies no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule — how it is used with a student, and for how long, is what your team's plan says. The log counts one thing: whether a step was completed independently.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, paraprofessionals and case managers teaching or tracking one everyday bathroom routine for one or several students on the same goal, who want the smaller single-routine file rather than the two-routine pack.
More In The Collection
This is a single in the Visual Supports Collection. A classroom that also needs the Handwashing sequence should look at Bathroom and Handwashing Sequence Cards, the two-routine pack this single was cut from; also in the collection: First-Then Board and Activity Picture Cards and Break Cards and Choice Board, plus a First Then Board and Visual Supports FREE starter set. New picture-card sets are added to the collection regularly.
