About this resource
Christmas coloring sheets that a PreK, kindergarten or self-contained class can all use at once, because the pages come in three levels. Every sheet is one big picture to color: a tree, a stocking, a candy cane, a gingerbread man, a snowman and more, all drawn for this pack with heavy, clean outlines. Every coloring page has a big My name line and one short instruction with a picture, so a paraprofessional can hand it out and walk away.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (27 pages)
- 1 Start Here page: what is inside, the three levels, ways to use the sheets
- 7 starting-level coloring sheets (circle): ornament, star, candy cane, bell, present, mitten, tree. Big simple shapes, and the child traces the word under the picture
- 6 building-level coloring sheets (square): gingerbread man, stocking, wreath, snowman, tree, holly. More parts, thinner lines; the child traces the word and copies it on a line
- 7 ready-for-more coloring sheets (triangle): tree, gingerbread man, stocking, snowflake, snowman, wreath, candle. Small spaces and patterns; the child writes the two colors used in a sentence
- 1 winter scene to color: a tree, a snowman, a little house with a wreath on the door, stars and falling snow, and six small pictures on the snow
- 1 draw-and-write page: My Christmas wish
- 1 class tracker (Who Colored What) with a row for each of 9 children
- 1 family letter with a take-home wish activity and a place to draw
- 1 credits page
That is 20 single-picture coloring sheets, one to a sheet, plus the winter scene to color in.
Three Levels, Marked With Shapes
The level is marked by a circle, a square or a triangle next to the name line instead of a number, so children at one table are not comparing papers. The tree appears at all three levels, so you can see the difference side by side.
What The Pictures Are
Winter-holiday objects: a tree, stocking, candy cane, bell, wreath, gingerbread man, present, mitten, star, snowflake, snowman, ornament, candle and holly. There is no Santa, no named characters, no brand art and no religious scene; teach holiday background with your own materials, and hand out the pictures that fit your community. Black and white outlines with almost no solid black, so they print light on ink.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
A print-and-color PDF, one sheet per child. It is not a fillable PDF and it is not Google Slides or a PowerPoint file. The fonts are KA Fonts and the clip-art kids on the teacher, family and credit pages are Whimsy Clips; the file is secured so the art cannot be lifted out of it.
Who This Is For
PreK, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade teachers, and special education teachers who need Christmas coloring at more than one level for a self-contained or resource room.
How To Use It
Print one sheet per child at the level that fits today. Use the winter scene as a whole-group page, then the wish page. Staple a few sheets with the family letter to send home.
