About this resource
Looking for winter color by number pages that practice adding and subtracting within 20? This set has 24 student sheets: 12 winter pictures, each at two levels, with an equation in every part of the picture and a color key at the bottom of the page. The child solves the equation, finds the answer in the key, and colors that part. When the last part is colored, the picture appears. Print and go, or type into the name line and the show-your-work box.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (39 pages)
- 24 student sheets: 12 winter pictures (snowman, mittens, hot cocoa, pine tree, penguin, snowflake, winter hat, igloo, winter boot, snowy cabin, polar bear, cozy sweater), each at two levels
- 328 equations in all: 164 within 10 (12 sheets) and 164 within 20 (12 sheets), 161 addition and 167 subtraction
- A color key on every sheet with 5 to 7 colors, each color tied to one answer, and the color word written under every swatch so the page still works in black and white
- A show-your-work box on every sheet
- A helper page with add and subtract pictures, two number lines (0 to 10 and 10 to 20) and three facts to try
- 3 answer-key pages that show every finished picture with the answer in every part
- A tracker for all 24 sheets, a filled example (an invented student) and a family page
- A binder cover with a spine strip, 2 divider tabs, a What's Next page and Start Here
Two Levels
A small circle in the top corner means within 10: numbers up to 10, with addition and subtraction mixed on the page. A square means within 20: numbers up to 20, including facts that cross ten like 8 + 5 and 15 - 7. The same pictures come in both levels with a different key, so two students can color the same picture at their own level.
How It Works
1. Pick a level and print a page. One short instruction: Solve. Color by the key.
2. The child solves each equation, finds the answer in the key, and colors that part.
3. Check with the answer key, and write the date and score on the tracker.
Built For The Child Holding The Page
A big "My name" line, big equations, big color swatches and room to work. Nothing on a student page is written for an adult; the answer keys and tracker are on separate teacher pages. Every picture is drawn from plain shapes, so the parts are large enough for a young child's crayon.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
