About this resource
Cutting practice that starts with one straight line and goes on, page by page, to zigzags, curvy lines, paths to a picture, shapes, spirals and cut and glue pictures. Every cutting page is six cards in a block, two across and three down, with a thick solid line to cut on, a green dot to start and a red stop to end. Every student page has a big "My name" line and one short instruction. Print and cut: no clip art to buy, because every line, shape and picture is drawn for this file.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (31 pages: 17 student pages, 14 for you)
Built For The Child, Not The Office
Every student page has a big "My name" line, one short instruction with a picture, thick lines and plenty of room. Everything for you (directions, the key, tracking) is on separate pages. The cards touch edge to edge, so a page is a few straight cuts to part, and the straight-line cards run edge to edge so one cut parts the card.
Three Levels, Marked By Dots
One dot, two dots or three dots at the top right of each student page: how much is on the card. A straight line has one dot; a tight spiral has three. The dots are the only level code, so children at one table are not comparing papers.
Every Line Is Drawn, Not Typed
Lines, zigzags, waves, shapes, spirals and the 18 pictures are vector drawings made for this file. The glue key and the shadows are read from the same order that places the pieces, so the key cannot disagree with the page. Each Cut and Glue page uses six different pictures and no piece sits under its own shadow.
Print And Cut
The cutting pages are made to print on plain paper, at actual size so the cards stay 3.7 by 2.5 inches. Nothing drawn on a card is dashed, so a child cuts on one clear line. The name line on a student page, the tracker, class grid, team note and home page are type-in fields in any PDF reader. Every page prints clean in black and white. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file.
Who This Is For
Preschool, pre-K, kindergarten and first grade teachers, special education and resource room teachers, paraprofessionals, and families who want the same pages at home, with the tracking and home pages already made.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
A set of scissor-practice pages with the record-keeping around it. It is not a screening or an assessment, and it makes no claim about any child's skills, age or progress. Nothing is timed or scored on a student page. What counts as cutting on the line is your team's call: the tracker has a box to write it in. Glue sticks and scissors are not included.
