About this resource
Teaching entrepreneurship and need sheets students can read, sort, calculate and write on? This is a complete set for grades 6-8: two short readings (what an entrepreneur does; cost, price and profit), word work, two cut-and-paste sorts, a six-sheet business planner, scenario sheets, find the mistake, two quizzes and a teacher section, with answer keys.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (39 sheets)
- 24 student sheets in 13 kinds of sheet, each with a name line and one short instruction
- 86 scored items on 12 scored sheets
- Words to know: 8 words (entrepreneur, customer, product, service, cost, price, profit, risk) with their meanings and two lines to write your own sentence for each
- 2 readings of 137 and 147 words (what an entrepreneur does; cost, price and profit with an invented lemonade stand), each with 3 checks (6 in all) and a writing box of at least 4 lines
- Word work: 8 words to match to meanings, 8 sentences to fill from a word bank, and 2 true-or-false sheets (16 sentences) with a box to rewrite a false one
- 2 cut-and-paste sorts, 12 pieces each in a 4 by 3 grid (24 pieces): a need or a want, and a product or a service
- 1 sheet of 12 business owner cards to cut out and talk over with a partner, with two writing boxes
- 1 match sheet, 6 pairs: match each business to the customer who needs it
- 2 scenario sheets, 3 scenarios each (6 in all), "what would a good business owner do?", each with a ruled box of at least 4 lines
- 1 find-the-mistake sheet (4 sentences by an invented student)
- 6 business-planner sheets for the student's own idea: my business idea, my customer, my costs (a 7-row list with totals), my price and profit (a calculator with blank boxes and a try-three-prices table), my ad and slogan, and will it work
- 6 short-answer questions on two sheets (at least 4 ruled lines each) and 2 quizzes (6 pick-the-answer items and 8 cost-price-or-profit items)
- 4 answer-key sheets, including the numbers for the invented lemonade stand; 1 tracker, 1 class grid, 1 team note, 1 family sheet, 1 filled example (an invented student) and 1 phrase bank (17 starters in 6 groups)

Built For The Student Holding The Page
A "My name" line, one short instruction with a small picture cue, a plain scalloped border and big ruled and answer boxes. Every ruled writing box has at least 3 lines. Nothing on a student sheet is written for an adult: the keys and records are on separate teacher sheets. The cut sheets have 12 pieces in a 4 by 3 grid, edge to edge, so there are only a few straight cuts. There is no clip art: the file is plain type, boxes and borders, written for older students, and it prints clean in black and white.
General Ideas, Not Advice
Each reading is a plain-words summary written for this file, in the way a middle school economics unit teaches the basics: an entrepreneur starts a business with an idea, needs customers, takes a risk, and earns a profit when the income is more than the costs. It does not quote any source, it says nothing about taxes, licenses or what a business will earn, and it is not tied to a particular standard. Check the readings against your own textbook. The only people in the file are invented, and each says so. All money amounts are written in words, so every number can be checked on the page.
Type In, Or Print
The name line, every answer box, every check box, every ruled work box and the table cells are type-in fields in any PDF reader: click one, type, then save. The cut sheets are for a pencil and scissors: they print. Print at 100 percent so the pieces stay the size they are drawn. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
A set of entrepreneurship sheets and readings with the record-keeping around it. It is not a timed test, a screener, a clinical tool, or a claim about any student's age or rate of progress. There is no IEP goal language or eligibility wording anywhere in the file, no income, tax or legal guidance, and no claim of alignment to any standard.
