About this resource

A fall-themed beginning sounds kit for kindergarten and first grade: 10 letters (P, A, L, O, C, B, H, M, S, T), each practiced four ways — circle/color the picture, trace the letter, write it independently, and sort each picture into a yes/no table — plus the recording and family pages around it.

EVERYTHING INSIDE (22 pages)

Fall Themes Throughout

Pumpkins, apples, leaves, corn, hay, owls and more — every picture is a real fall/autumn object, printed clean on a grayscale copier. This is a seasonal resource for practice in September through October.

No Clip Art

Every picture is a vector drawing from fall_icons.py, a stroke-based set made to print clean in black and white without loss of detail or meaning.

Type In, Or Print

The name and date lines, the tracker, the progress summary, the family update and all other record-keeping blanks are type-in fields in any PDF reader; every picture is always printed, never typed. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file.

Who This Is For

Kindergarten and first-grade classrooms, self-contained and resource rooms, and any small group working on beginning sounds at or below grade level, with a seasonal focus on fall and autumn.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

A beginning-sounds practice set with the recording and family communication around it. It is not a full phonics curriculum, not an assessment, and not a claim about any student's age, grade level or rate of progress.
