About this resource
Fluency graph pages for oral reading: a student goal page, a daily graph, two weekly graphs, a year-long graph and a family letter with its own graph, in one fillable PDF. Type the numbers or print and write by hand, then let the student color the bars.
WHAT IS INCLUDED - 16 pages
Start And Set Up
- Start Here - three steps and a chooser matching eight situations to a page
- How the Type-In Fields Work - one page, so nobody emails you, including how to type your own scale up the side of a graph
The Student Pages
- My Reading Goal - starting score, goal score, a date, four goal steps and a "how I will get there" checklist in big print
- Daily Fluency Graph - 20 days, one bar a day, with a date and score table under the graph
- Weekly Fluency Graph, bars - 12 weeks of bars to color, with a date and score table
- Weekly Fluency Graph, dots and line - 12 weeks for students who like to dot and connect
- Year-Long Fluency Graph - 36 weeks on one page, with a dark line every nine weeks and four quarter boxes
- Every graph has type-in boxes up the side, so YOU set the range. No benchmark numbers are printed anywhere.
- I Met My Reading Goal! - a fill-in award page
Tracking And Home
- Reading Log - 14 rows for date, passage, words read, mistakes and words correct, with the one-line way a score is figured
- Family Letter and Home Reading Tips - a fill-in letter, a mini 8-week graph to color and five tips for home
- Caseload Fluency Overview - 12 rows: start score, goal score, latest score, date and next step
Example And Binder
- A filled weekly graph for an invented student (Maya), 12 weeks, with the numbers re-added on the page
- Binder Cover and three Divider Tabs
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click a box, type, press Tab to move on, and Save As. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT a Google Slides deck, a Google Doc or a PowerPoint file, and you cannot drag the boxes around.
It is graph paper for reading scores, not a test. There are no grade-level targets or norms in it: you choose the scale and the goal. It is not a school policy; your school's own way of counting a mistake gets a blank box on the reading log. The example student and her scores are invented and say so on the page.
Who This Is For
Classroom teachers, special education teachers, interventionists and reading tutors who time one-minute reads and want a student to see their own growth, and who need a letter to send the picture home.
