About this resource
Three life cycle worksheet sets, one download. Pumpkin, salmon and penguin each get the same complete kit: put the six stages in order, cut and glue the words, label the parts, fill a life cycle wheel, then write, draw and finish the sentences. Every student page has a "My name" line, one short instruction and room to work, with big drawn pictures. Teach one life cycle, then use the next set to compare how a plant, a fish and a bird grow and change.
WHAT IS IN THE BUNDLE - 3 PDFs, 90 pages
- Pumpkin Life Cycle Worksheets (K-2) - 30 pages: seed, sprout, vine, flower, green pumpkin and orange pumpkin. Label the parts of the plant and the parts of a pumpkin.
- Salmon Life Cycle Worksheets (K-2) - 30 pages: egg, alevin, fry, parr, smolt and adult. Label the parts of an adult salmon and of an alevin.
- Penguin Life Cycle Worksheets (K-2) - 30 pages: egg, egg on feet, hatching, chick, juvenile and adult. Label the parts of an adult penguin and of a chick.
In Every Set
- 7 cut-and-glue pages with the pieces printed edge to edge in a strip: put the stages in order, glue the words, what comes next, a life cycle wheel and two label pages
- Pages to write on: number and name the pictures, write the names of the parts, a wheel to write in, draw each stage, finish the sentences
- A word bank page and a page of picture cards
- A Start Here page, a binder cover and three divider tabs
- Two answer keys, so a paraprofessional or a student can check the work
- A recording sheet and a filled-in example with an invented student (it says so on the page)
- A page to send home with a child
Built For The Student Holding The Page
Student pages use big pictures, short kid-worded directions and answer boxes you can type into or write in. A small shape in the top corner tells you the level: a circle is a starting page, a square is the standard cut and glue, a triangle is ready for more. Nothing on a student page is written for an adult: the keys and records are on separate teacher pages. Every set prints clean in black and white.
Who Is It For
Teachers of kindergarten through grade 2, special education and resource room teachers, interventionists, co-teachers, tutors and homeschool families who want ready-to-use life cycle practice with no prep.
Type In, Or Print
Each of the 3 files is a fillable PDF: click a box, type, then save one copy per student. You can also print any page and write or glue by hand. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is not Google Slides, not Google Docs and not PowerPoint. Printing supplies, scissors and glue are not included.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
A set of life cycle practice pages with the record-keeping around them. It is not a timed test, a screener or a clinical tool, and it makes no claim about any student's age or rate of progress. There is no IEP goal language or eligibility wording in the files. No claim of alignment to any one state's standards; check the wording against your own curriculum.
