About this resource

A maternity leave binder for a special education case manager, because going on leave for weeks or months is nothing like finding a sub for one day — the classroom keeps running, but the CASELOAD does not run itself. Someone still has to know who is seeing which student for how many minutes, which IEP meetings might land while you are out, and where every goal stood the day you left.

This fillable PDF organizes exactly that, for an outgoing case manager, the person covering, and the case manager coming back:

It is a fillable PDF: type into the fields on a computer or tablet, save, and print blank for a pen. It works offline, with no account or subscription.

It is not a leave-of-absence request or an HR form — the case manager's own leave paperwork and process stay with their district, entirely separate from this binder, which only organizes the caseload side of being out. It is not a legal records-transfer document, and no page decides who may attend, lead, or sign for a meeting while the case manager is out, or what any building's coverage policy requires — every one of those is a blank line for the district's own answer.

Special education case managers going on maternity, paternity, medical, or other extended leave; the colleague or related-service provider covering the caseload while they are out; and the building administrator coordinating the coverage.
