About this resource
Roll a die, find your number on the chart, and draw a silly turkey, one part at a time. This print-and-go roll-and-draw game gives you the chart, the record sheet, blank scenes to draw in, a counting page for PreK, a roll-and-color page, a spinner and number cards for classrooms without dice, two writing pages, and a build-a-turkey cut and glue craft.
How To Play
1. Roll a die (or spin the spinner, or pick a number card).
2. Find that number in the body row of the chart. Draw that body.
3. Roll again for the beak, eyes, wattle, legs and feathers. Six rolls make one turkey.
WHAT'S INSIDE (16 pages)
- Start Here page for the teacher (page 2)
- The Roll a Turkey chart: 6 rows (body, beak, eyes, wattle, legs, feathers) with 6 options in each row, 36 drawings (page 3)
- Roll and draw record sheet: a roll box and a draw box for each of the 6 parts (page 4)
- 3 blank scenes to draw a turkey in: the barnyard, the pumpkin patch, and a turkey body to build on (pages 5-7)
- Counting dots for PreK: count the dots, circle the number, color the part (page 8)
- Roll and color: 6 numbered feathers and a 6-color key (page 9)
- Die-free options: a spinner (page 10) and 12 number cards, two of each number 1 to 6 (page 11)
- Write about my turkey: word bank and sentence frames (page 12), and my turkey story with First, Next and Last boxes (page 13)
- Build a turkey: 9 colored pieces to cut (page 14) and the page to glue them on (page 15)
- Credits (page 16)
Three levels are marked with a shape, not a number: circle (counting and coloring), square (roll and draw), triangle (writing). Each cutting page is a grid of equal pieces, so every cut is one straight line. No adult text on the student pages, and a big My name line on every one.
You will need: a die (or a pencil and a paper clip for the spinner), crayons, scissors and glue sticks. This is a PDF to print; it is not fillable and is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
