About this resource

EVERYTHING INSIDE — 19 pages, 132 type-in fields

A spring-vocabulary matching binder built on one nine-word bank (tulip, cherry blossom, rainbow, butterfly, umbrella, sun, seedling, bee, ladybug) run through two different boards — identifying and naming any of the nine at the first board, then sorting the same nine into Growing Things, Garden Bugs and Sky and Weather at the second, each with its own tracker row. Most matching binders stop at the board; this one adds the tracker, the family update and the phrase bank behind it, so a week of practice turns into counts a case manager can bring to a meeting.

The Boards

The Words

Every picture was chosen to be named in one word by a young child, in color AND in the black-and-white set. Bee (Noto/Fluent codepoint 1f41d) and ladybug (1f41e) are pictured under their real Unicode names "Honeybee" and "Lady beetle" and were checked side by side in the ink-saver set to confirm they stay visually distinct (striped winged oval versus round evenly-spotted dome). Nine words cannot split into two boards that both clear this collection's 6-or-more-pictures-per-board floor (5+4 or 6+3 leaves one board under it), so the full nine-word bank is run through two board types instead: an identify board with all nine in one grid, and a sort board whose three three-word grids render stacked, one under the next, so the page shows the full nine-word list. The cut-apart card band on the sort board is stacked the same way — never two groups side by side — so no card ever prints across a border. The same nine-word bank is printed as cut-apart cards twice — once for the identify board, once for the sort board — plus once more on the home page, for 27 cards in all; this is an honest nine-word bank run through two board types, not a padded board.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a fillable PDF: type into the tracker, the organizer, the home page and the family update, or print and use a pen. The board pages print on cardstock or plain paper; the card band cuts off the bottom and the board stays whole. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a test of anything.

It carries no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule, and it does not decide what a count means for a student or when a board is done with. The tracker counts which boards were done and what help was given, and nothing else.

Who This Is For

Special education teachers and paraprofessionals running functional-vocabulary or naming practice with early, pre-reading or low-verbal students, case managers who need that practice to show up as data, and the families who get the home page.

More In The Collection

This binder is part of the Morning Work & Adapted Books Collection; more matching binders are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same boards-plus-tracker shape.
