About this resource
A hundred chart stops at 100. Once a 2nd or 3rd grader is ready for three-digit place value, they need the whole thousands chart — ten hundred-blocks, back to back, 1 all the way to 1,000 — and the work that only makes sense once you have it: finding which block a number lives in, before-and-after right across a hundred mark (199, 200, 201), rounding to the nearest ten and the nearest hundred, skip-counting by tens and by hundreds, and cutting and gluing a strip of numbers that crosses from one block into the next.
WHAT IS INCLUDED - 40 pages
- 22 student pages in 8 formats, plus 1 Look page that lines up all ten blocks so a child sees the whole chart at once
- Which Block? (3 pages), Before and After (3 pages), Round It (2 pages), Skip-Count (3 pages), Fill the Block (3 pages), Color the Pattern (2 pages), Write About a Number (3 pages), Cut and Glue (3 pages)
- Most formats come in three levels (shown only as dots on the name line, never a word, so no child's page looks like "the easy one")
- 18 cut-and-glue pieces across 3 pages, 6 pieces a page in a 3-by-2 block, so each page is 3 straight cuts
- 3 answer keys, generated from the same numbers every practice page uses
- 1 tracker (22 rows, one per practice page), 1 class progress grid
- 1 team hand-off note, 1 home page for a family, 1 filled example for an invented student, 1 sixteen-line phrase bank for progress notes and family notes
- 1 binder cover and 6 divider tabs with a spine label, cut along the dashed lines
- Fillable and print: type into every answer box in a PDF reader, or print and write with a pencil — every page reads fine photocopied in black and white
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click a box, type, and save, or print it and use a pencil. It is NOT a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file, and it does not grade or score anything automatically — the answer keys are separate pages you check by eye.
It does not set a grade level, an IEP goal, or a pace. It is the working paper behind whatever your own scope and sequence, IEP goal, or intervention plan already calls for; where a decision belongs to your team, the page leaves a blank for it.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers and case managers working place value to 1,000 with a 2nd or 3rd grader, interventionists running small groups at different levels on the same skill, and general education teachers who want three-digit rounding and skip-counting practice that goes past a single hundred chart.
