Action Verbs Picture Cards

About this resource

Action verb picture cards for kindergarten through grade 2: 48 cards of a child doing something, one action word under each. Cut them, say them, sort them on a mat, play bingo with them, then circle, match, write and draw on student pages with room to work. Every picture is drawn for this set, so there are no emoji and no clip art.

EVERYTHING INSIDE — 36 pages

• 48 action verb picture cards, 12 to a page, 3 across and 4 down, edge to edge so every cut is one straight line (4 pages, color)

The Cards

Run, climb, cut, sing, wash, draw, hug, throw, yawn, whisper and 38 more, in A to Z order so a page does not sort itself. A person doing the action carries most cards; the mouth and face verbs (eat, drink, sing, laugh, cry and others) are big round faces so the mouth can be seen. The skin tones and shirt colors vary from card to card on purpose. Use them to show and say, as a quick sort at the desk, as bingo callers, or hand a student two or three at a time. A blank card holds any action that is not printed here.

The Student Pages

Every student page has a "My name" line, one short instruction with a picture, big pictures and big rounded words, and room to circle, write or draw. The student in the filled example is invented.
