About this resource

This store already sells Elkonin Boxes Cut and Paste, a fresh strip of letter tiles cut and glued

for one word at a time. This is a different tool for the same skill: ONE reusable alphabet arc,

printed and laminated once, that a student builds every word of the year from — no cutting after

the first five minutes.

Print the arc (page 5), cut the 28 tiles exactly one time (page 6: 26 letters, one spare "t" for the

pack's one double-letter word, and a blank wildcard tile), and laminate both if you can. From there,

every sound-box mat on every later page is reusable: a student pulls letters from the same arc,

builds a word one sound per box, you check it against the key, and the boxes clear for the next

word. Nothing is glued down.

Level 2 (picture, no tint: bed, dog, fox), Level 3 (word only, no picture: sat, fed, dig)

(picture, no tint: drum, sled, nest), Level 3 (word only: tent, flag, sled) — the beginning-blend

and ending-blend words a plain 3-sound CVC worksheet does not reach

5-word session sheet, both open-ended (a teacher writes in ANY word, not just this pack's own 16)

How To Use It

Laminate the arc and cut the 28 tiles once — that is the only cutting this pack ever asks for. Pick

a level per student, not per class: Level 1 (picture, tinted boxes) for the most support, Level 2

(picture, no tint) for some support, Level 3 (word only) for independent readers. A student says the

word, pulls one tile per sound from the arc, and places it in the numbered box; check it against the

key, clear the boxes, and move to the next word. The two Build Any Word mats let a teacher probe any

word the arc can spell, any day, not just the 16 built into this pack.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a print, laminate and reuse set: the alphabet arc, the letter tiles, and every sound-box mat

are designed to be used over and over, not consumed per student. The two Build Any Word mats and the

answer key are meant to be laminated too. The progress tracker and the two communication pages

(family, team) are print-and-write — pen and paper, the same as the rest of this product; **this file

has no type-in fillable fields and is not typed into on a screen.** It carries no benchmark, no age,

and no diagnosis: the invented student on the example page and the blanks on the family page are

observable counts only, left for each teacher's own wording.

Who This Is For

K-1 special education and reading intervention teachers building phonemic segmentation from 3-sound

CVC words up through 4-sound beginning- and ending-blend words (crab, frog, flag, drum, sled, nest,

tent), who want one reusable manipulative instead of a fresh cut-and-paste sheet per word. Also

general education K-1 teachers running a word-building center, and paraprofessionals using the team

note to run a session without the lead teacher in the room.
