About this resource
Apraxia picture cards sorted by syllable shape: CV, VC, CVC, CVCV and CVCVC. Every word has its own clear picture, and every card and page carries the shape letters, so you can grab the pile you want without hunting through a mixed word list. Print the color cards and cut a few straight lines. Hand out the black-and-white pages for children to say, find and color. Every student page has a big My name line and one short instruction with a picture.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (27 pages)
- 1 Start Here page: what is inside, how to read a shape, three steps, which page for which job
- 1 words-by-shape list: all 66 words with their page numbers and lines for words you move, add or skip
- 1 colored-in example (an invented student, Sam) so you can see a finished Say & Find page
- 6 sets of color picture cards, 66 cards in all, each with its word and its shape letters; the cards sit edge to edge in 3 rows or 4, so cutting is a few straight lines
- 6 Say & Color pages, one for each set: the same pictures in black and white, each with its word and five circles to color
- 6 Say & Find pages, one for each set: a busy black-and-white scene, the child says a word, finds that picture and colors it; 5 pictures from other sets in every scene are there to skip, 30 in all, and a key at the bottom shows each word, its picture and five circles
- 1 class tracker (My Sets) with 14 rows, a column for each of the 6 sets and a notes column
- 1 student practice chart with 30 stars to color
- 1 family note with blanks for your own plan (the shape, the words, how often, return date)
- 1 what's-next page showing related speech and language resources
- 1 credits page

How It Works
Pick a set, print its cards and cut them apart (laminate them if you like). Hand out the Say & Color page or the Say & Find page for the same set. On a Say & Color page the child says a word, colors a circle for each time, then colors the picture. On a Say & Find page the child picks a word from the key, says it, finds the picture in the scene and colors it. The circles are a place to count, not a score. For home, send the Say & Color page with the practice chart and the family note.
What This Set Is And Is Not
It is a set of picture cards and print-and-color pages for word practice, sorted by syllable shape. It is not a screener, an assessment, a program or a treatment plan, and it has no scoring. It does not say which words to use, how many, how often or when a child is ready; your district's rules and your own plan decide that. It is a PDF to print, not a fillable PDF, and not Google Slides or a PowerPoint file.
The Look
Pictures from Whimsy Clips, one set of art on every page; the black-and-white twins print light and leave plenty of room to color. Fonts are KA Fonts. The file is secured so the art cannot be lifted out of it.
Who This Is For
Speech-language pathologists, special education teachers and paraprofessionals working with PreK through 2nd grade students, and families doing practice at home.
