About this resource
Car tokens and a token board for the student who is working for a reward. Pick a board with 3, 5 or 10 spots, cut the race car tokens, and put a car in a spot each time one is earned. When every spot has a car, the student picks a reward from the menu. The cars are generic cars drawn for this set, with no brand, movie or toy-line cars.
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 29 pages
- Three car token boards: 3 spots, 5 spots and 10 spots. Each has a "My name" line, a reward box and an "I am working for" line
- A sheet of 3 desk strips (3 spots each) with a name line and a working-for line on every strip
- 48 car tokens to cut in color, on 2 pages: 6 cars (race car, sports car, pickup, van, wagon, little car) in 8 colors. Each page is 6 across and 4 down, edge to edge, so cutting is straight lines
- 24 outline car tokens on a page of their own for the student to color and cut (ink-saver)
- A "My garage" picture on each token page for the cars to live in
- 12 reward cards to cut, in color and in black-and-white ink-saver: toy car, book, bubbles, checkered flag, music, painting, bike, gold star, traffic light, school bus, crayon and rainbow
- 12 blank reward cards you type or write on
- A reward menu with 6 picture choices: the student colors one circle
- My Own Reward Menu: 6 boxes to draw and write the student's own choices
- My Race Tally: 5 days, 6 cars a day, for the student to color a car for each full board
- A how-to page with 10 short notes
- A car token log (17 rows: date, cars earned, what for, board full Y/N, reward picked, initials)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent graph
- A filled example: an invented student, one week on the log, three weeks on the roll-up and the rewards picked across all three
- A family page with 6 small car tokens to cut apart and a note home
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional or another classroom uses the same board the same way
- A phrase bank: 23 lines in 6 groups (spoken lines for the board, the cars and the menu; written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 12 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page that maps every page, and a "what's next" back page
The Student Pages
Every student page has a "My name" line, one short instruction with a picture, big spots and big rounded words, and room to color, draw or write. A car token is a little smaller than a board spot, so it sits inside it. The student in the filled example is invented.
How It Works
Pick a board and a reward. Put the reward card in the reward box. Each time a car is earned it goes in the next spot. When every spot has a car, the student picks a reward from the menu and colors a car on the race tally. What earns a car, and who places it, is your team's call: write it in your own words on the log.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the name lines, the menu, the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, speech-language pathologists and families who want a car-themed token board with a reward menu and a place to write it down.
