About this resource
A complete more, less and equal kit for Kindergarten that compares REAL pictures, not just symbols: apples, balloons, cookies, cars, fish, cupcakes, leaves and gifts, counted side by side, with a line to write the word. Five formats move from the most support to the least, with the tracking, a filled example and a family page built around them.
WHAT IS INCLUDED - 26 pages, 54 comparison items
Start Here And How It Works
- Quick Start - the three steps and a chooser matching the student's level to the right format
- How to Use This File - what each of the five page types asks for, a worked example, and how the fillable fields work
- Contents - every section, its item count, and its page numbers
Five Ways To Compare
- Compare Two Groups, Within 5 - 12 items, 2 pages - two groups of the SAME picture, small numbers
- Compare Two Groups, Within 10 - 12 items, 2 pages - the same task, bigger numbers
- Compare Two Different Pictures, Within 10 - 10 items, 2 pages - two groups of two DIFFERENT pictures, so there is no matching picture to lean on, only the count
- Circle the Most and the Fewest - 8 items, 2 pages - three groups of the same picture at once, labeled A, B and C; circle the Most, then circle the Fewest
- Ink-Saver Set - 12 items, 2 pages - the same within-10 task drawn in black outline only (Fluent Emoji High Contrast), for a plain photocopy
Checking And Tracking
- Two Answer Key pages, generated from the same counts every worksheet uses, including a by-format More/Less/Equal count and a worked Most/Fewest example
- Practice Tracker - all five formats, items and score
- Progress Snapshot - a bar graph built from the tracker, plus a three-checkpoint progress table
- Class Practice Grid - 15 rows for a whole class or small group, coded by format
- Filled Example - an invented Kindergartner's scores across all five formats, with notes and next steps
Communication And Home
- Family Update - a blank-filled note home on what was covered and the score, written in the family's own words
- Home Page - a no-school-materials practice page (three worked demos) plus three quick at-home ideas
- Phrase Bank - progress-note, family-note, next-step and talk-first starters, every one ending in a blank
- Binder Cover and Tabs - a cover, a spine label and six divider tabs
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click the name line, a Write It line, a tracker cell or a family-page box, type, and save. It works offline with no account or subscription, and it prints clean in black and white (the Ink-Saver pages are already drawn for a photocopier). It is NOT a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file, and the pictures are always printed, never typed.
Every picture is Google Noto Emoji (color, Apache-2.0) or Microsoft Fluent Emoji High Contrast (black and white, MIT) - a real, nameable object, never an abstract shape standing in for "a thing to count." Every More/Less/Equal and Most/Fewest answer in this file is computed from the pictures' own counts in code, the same way on the worksheet and on the answer key - there is no second, hand-typed key. The invented student on the filled example is labeled as invented; nothing in this file is a claim about a real student's age, grade level, diagnosis or rate of progress. Where your district has its own rule for how this data is used or reported, there is a blank line to write it on.
Who This Is For
Kindergarten general and special education teachers teaching more/less/equal and comparing sets (K.CC.C.6-7), paraprofessionals running small-group practice, and any teacher who wants a progress-monitoring-friendly version of this skill with real pictures instead of abstract dots or bare numbers.
