About this resource

EVERYTHING INSIDE — 19 pages

The posted strip-and-card version of this same six-step order stays where it is posted or lives in a pocket chart. This file prints no strip and no pocket-chart set: the same six step cards, in the same fixed order, cut small, punched near the top edge and threaded onto a one-inch book ring, so the sequence travels on a lanyard or belt clip with whoever is wearing it — into the hallway, the cafeteria, recess, specials, or anywhere a posted version is not within reach.

THE STEPS (reused verbatim from the posted strip-and-card version, same words and pictures)

1. Stop — a stop sign; the signal to pause before reacting

2. Talk — a speech balloon; say what the problem is, using words

3. Ear — an ear; listen to what the other person says back

4. Lightbulb — a lightbulb; think of an idea both people could try

5. Handshake — a handshake; agree on the idea, and shake on it

6. Raise hand — used only if steps 1 through 5 do not solve it; get an adult

Unlike a bank of interchangeable cue cards, these six steps are not a choice to pick from — they happen in the same order every time a conflict comes up, so the ring sheet prints the same six cards twice (twelve cut pieces total) rather than splitting them across two sheets: thread the first set, then the second, in order, and flipping front to back through the ring IS the sequence. Raise Hand stays on the ring because it is part of the plan every student is taught, not because it happens every time — the log scores it separately from the other five steps for exactly that reason.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. The card sheet prints on cardstock or plain paper, cuts along dashed lines, and punches near the top edge for a one-inch book ring (sold separately). It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.

It is a way for an adult to carry the same six-step order a posted strip already teaches, so it travels from room to room, and to write down whether a step was completed without a prompt and whether an adult was needed. It is not a behavior plan, a discipline procedure or a program of any kind, and it promises no outcome. It supplies no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule, and it does not decide when Raise Hand is reached — that stays your team's call. The goal line and the criterion field are blanks for your district's own wording and your team's own number.

Who This Is For

Special education teachers, paraprofessionals and specials teachers who already teach the six-step conflict-resolution order and need it to travel with a roving adult — the recess monitor, the cafeteria duty staff, the specials teacher, the substitute — plus the case managers who need that use to show up as data, and the families who get the home page sent home.

More In The Collection

This single sits alongside Conflict Resolution Steps Cards (the posted strip and cut-apart card version of the same six steps), Calm-Down Steps Wearable Ring Cards for Special Education and Apology Sequence Wearable Ring Cards (the same ring mechanic for other fixed sequences), and the free Visual Supports Starter Set; more picture-card sets — schedule cards, routine strips, choice boards — are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same cards-plus-data shape.
