About this resource
A Domino Parking Lot task box that grows with your students. They pick up a domino, count the dots, and park it in the lot with that number. Three levels, three parking mats, 72 domino pieces to cut out, and everything you need to run it and track it.
WHAT IS INCLUDED - 20 pages
- Start Here page for the teacher (set up, the three levels, how to run it)
- A finished parking lot to show students what "all parked" looks like
- A worked example with an invented student (labeled as invented)
- 3 parking mats: lots 0 to 6 at Level 1 (each lot holds two dominoes), lots 0 to 12 at Levels 2 and 3
- 72 domino pieces to cut, 24 at each level (two sets of 12 per level), in color AND the same 72 in black and white
- Level 1 (circle): dots on both halves, totals 0 to 6
- Level 2 (square): dots on both halves, totals 0 to 12
- Level 3 (triangle): a number on each half, like 3 + 4, or dots on one half and a number on the other, totals 0 to 12
- 3 student recording sheets (write the two parts of each domino in its lot)
- A note for home
- Answer key
- A teacher data sheet with a progress graph
How It Works
Print a mat and the matching domino page. Cut on the dashed lines: the pieces sit edge to edge, six across and four down, so there are only straight cuts. The student counts the dots, finds the lot with that number on its sign, and parks the domino there. Laminate the mat and use it again and again, or slide it into a page protector.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a print-and-cut task box. It is NOT a digital or interactive file, and it does not include real dominoes, laminating pouches or toy cars.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, interventionists, paraprofessionals and early elementary teachers who need an independent math center with low reading demand and three ways to make it easier or harder.
