About this resource

The call comes at 6 a.m. and the sub folder has a seating chart and nothing to teach. This is the other half of a sub day: a full fall-themed day a substitute can teach cold, with no planning and no hunting for materials, differentiated three ways so it fits whichever students are actually in the room. A read-this-first page, a fillable schedule, a level guide, a fall reading passage with three levels of comprehension questions and an answer key, fall math word problems at three levels with an answer key, a fall word-work page at three levels with its answer key, a brain break card, a support quick-reference page, a report back to the classroom teacher, and a filled example day.

Wrap-Up

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click a line or a box, type, press Tab to move on. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable slide deck or a word processor file, and it does not grade the worksheets or track attendance for you. The reading, math, word-work and movement pages print and go with no typing at all.

It is not a behavior plan, a lesson plan the missing teacher has to write, a label for a student, or an eligibility page. Nothing in it says what to do about a refusal, a meltdown, or a physical situation - that is left as a blank line for the school's own procedure. The class, the substitute, and every student named on the example day are invented, and the page says so.

Who This Is For

Special education teachers and case managers who want a ready day in the sub folder before they need it, substitutes who are handed a room with no plan, and any classroom that wants a fall-themed no-prep day at three reading and math levels.
