About this resource
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 21 pages
- 10 feelings cards, 2 inches square: happy, sad, angry, scared, worried, tired, sick, calm, surprised, silly — split five and five across two ring sheets so a buyer can print one sheet or both
- Every card twice: a full-color set for the ring and a black-and-white ink-saver set for a spare ring or a second adult
- A "what to say when this card is shown back" reference printed right on every card sheet, so the ring and the spoken line never separate
- 10 blank ring cards with a type-in word line, for any feeling the printed set does not cover
- A how-to page: building the ring (cut, punch, thread), checking in, picking what travels on it, what to do if the card picked surprises you, writing down what changes, one ring for several adults, sending it home and handing it off
- A Feelings Check-In Log (16 rows: date, time, setting, feeling shown, how checked in, notes)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a check-ins-per-week graph
- A filled example — an invented student, one day across four settings and three weeks on the roll-up, every number re-counted from its own row
- A family page with six home feeling cards, the line to say when each one is shown back, and a week of home tries to initial
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional, specials teacher or substitute carries the same ring the same way
- A phrase bank: 24 lines in 6 groups (spoken lines for checking in, written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 10 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, and a "what's next" back page
The collection's own Feelings Chart and Check-In Cards is a wall chart and a desk board: it stays in the room it is posted in. This file carries the same ten feeling words a different way — cut to a small card, punched near the top edge and threaded onto a one-inch book ring, so a check-in travels on a lanyard or belt clip into the hallway, the cafeteria, specials, a fire-drill line, or anywhere a posted chart is not within reach.
The Cards
- Feelings cards (10) — happy, sad, angry, scared, worried, tired, sick, calm, surprised, silly, the same bank the Feelings Chart and Check-In Cards set already uses
Every picture and word is the same one that flat-card set already uses, so a buyer who owns both sees the same card mean the same thing in both places. Cards are 2 inches square; a hole punched near the top edge, inside the dashed cut line, keeps the picture and the word clear of the ring.
The Ring Sheets
- Ring Sheet A and Ring Sheet B — five feelings cards each, cut apart and punched, color or ink-saver
No board at all and no wall chart at all: every card prints at the same 2-inch size, so a card from either sheet sits on the ring next to a card from the other without a size mismatch.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. The card sheets print on cardstock or plain paper, cut along dashed lines, and punch near the top edge for a one-inch book ring (sold separately). It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
It is a way for an adult to offer the same feelings pictures a wall chart already uses, in a form that travels from room to room, and to write down which feeling was named. There is no wrong feeling to pick, and this file does not say what a feeling means or what to do about it — that is your team's plan, not this file's. It is not a behavior plan, a clinical finding or a program of any kind, and it promises no outcome. It carries no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule. The goal line and the criterion field are blanks for your district's own wording and your team's own number.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, paraprofessionals and specials teachers who already use (or are building) a feelings check-in and need the same pictures to travel with a roving adult — the hallway monitor, the cafeteria duty staff, the specials teacher, the substitute — plus the case managers who need that use to show up as data, and the families who get the home page sent home.
More In The Collection
This single pairs with Feelings Chart and Check-In Cards (the flat wall-chart and board version of the same bank) and Lanyard Cue Cards for Special Education (the same ring mechanic, carrying calm-down request and choice cards instead); more picture-card sets are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same cards-plus-data shape.
