About this resource

Who eats whom? Help your 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders find out with food chains and food webs they can build with scissors and glue. These food chains and food webs worksheets start with a picture and a finished chain, then move to sorting producers and consumers, matching predators with their prey, building a chain link by link, drawing the arrows, and reading a meadow food web. The arrow always points to the eater. Print and go, in color or ink-saver.

WHAT IS INCLUDED - 36 pages

What This Is, And What It Is Not

It is a print PDF of cut-and-glue and write-by-hand pages with Whimsy Clips clip art, built for 2nd to 4th grade and special education classrooms: big pictures, one short direction a sheet, room to write, and cutting pieces set edge to edge so there are as few cuts as possible. The plants and animals are chosen so each one fits one group (a plant, a plant eater or an animal eater); some animals eat both plants and animals, and the Start Here page suggests talking about those. It has no form fields to type into, no scores, no standards claims and no assessment claims, and every sentence is plain and written for practice.

Who This Is For

2nd, 3rd and 4th grade teachers, special education teachers, interventionists and paraprofessionals who want a clear, visual, hands-on way to teach food chains and food webs, especially for children who need pictures, short text and a hint-first step before they work on their own.
