About this resource
Print-and-go Kindness Bingo for grades K-5. Six different bingo boards of small acts of kindness, 24 calling cards to cut, heart markers to cover the squares, a random acts of kindness list to check off, and a kindness quilt to color in, draw in and build as a class. All text and drawn pictures; no prep beyond cutting.
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 32 pages
- 6 different 3 x 3 bingo boards: 8 acts of kindness and a free heart in the middle of each. Every act is on exactly two boards, and no two boards share more than 4 acts
- A blank bingo board: draw 8 kind acts and write the words
- 24 calling cards to cut, 6 across and 4 down, cut on the dotted lines. Each has a number, a picture and the act in words: say hello to someone new, hold the door open, share a pencil or crayon, cheer for a classmate and 20 more
- 16 heart markers to cut, 4 across and 4 down
- My Random Acts of Kindness List: all 24 acts with a box to check, plus 2 lines for the student's own
- Kindness Quilt: 16 patches to color in
- My Kindness Quilt: 12 patches to draw a kind act in and write what it is
- Class Quilt Squares: 16 squares to color, name and cut (4 across, 4 down), then glue edge to edge for a class quilt
- My Kindness Week: 5 days, a heart to color each day and a line for what I did
- My Kind Act: draw one kind act and write who it was for, what I did and what happened next
- A how-to page with two ways to play (call and cover, or catch it all week)
- A board key and call sheet: all 24 acts, the kind of act and the two boards each is on
- A Kind Acts Log (20 rows: date, kind act, where, initials)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent graph
- A filled example: an invented student, one week on the log, three weeks on the roll-up and the kinds of acts across all three
- A family page with 6 small cards to cut apart and a note home
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional or another classroom plays and logs it the same way
- A phrase bank: 23 lines in 6 groups (spoken lines for the game; written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 12 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page that maps every page, and a "what's next" back page
The Student Pages
Every student page has a "My name" line (the cards and cut pages are on their own), one short instruction with a picture, big drawn pictures and big rounded words, and room to color, draw or write. The acts are everyday ones from the classroom and the playground. The student in the filled example is invented.
Two Ways To Play
Call and cover: mix the 24 calling cards, read one out loud, and the class covers that square if it is on their board. Catch it: all week, a student covers a square when they do that act or see a classmate do it. Your classroom's own rules come first, and the blank board holds any act that is not printed here.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the name lines, the log, the roll-up, the family page and the hand-off page, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Teachers, counselors, special education teachers and paraprofessionals who want a concrete, text-based game and a quilt to talk about small acts of kindness, for grades K-5, and the families who get the home page.
