About this resource
Kind words land best when they are written down. This pack gives you 30 cut-apart kindness notes: 18 for you to write to a student and 12 for students to write to each other. Each note has a To line, a From line, a date, and room for the message. Type into them on your computer, or print and write by hand. Then cut on the solid lines and share them, in a kindness mailbox or hand to hand. Use them any time: for a kindness week, or all year.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (17 pages)
For The Teacher
- Start Here, a how-to page, and a terms page
- Three teacher-to-student sheets, 18 notes in all: 6 with a sentence starter printed on each note ("I noticed you...", "Thank you for...", and four more), 6 with blank lines for your own words, and 6 on a black-and-white ink-saver sheet
- A sheet of 8 cut-apart mailbox labels you can type a name or group into
- A class kindness tracker with 14 student rows: who gave a note and who got one, Monday to Friday, with totals
- A filled example: six notes and a class tracker for five invented students, with every number checked against the notes
- A phrase bank: 16 sentence starters in four groups, ending in blanks you fill in
- A note home with fill-in lines and three questions for families
- A credits and thank-you page
For The Student
- Two sheets of student-to-student notes, 12 in all: 6 with a picture and a sentence starter ("Thank you for...", "You were kind when...", and four more) and 6 with a drawing box and one line to write
- A kindness chart with 10 circles for notes given and 10 for notes got, to color in, plus lines to write
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: click a line and type, or print and write. It is NOT a slide deck or a document file. It prints in color or in black and white. The pictures are clip art from Whimsy Clips and Educlips. There are no characters and no brand names. It is not a grade, a behavior plan, or a school policy. Your own rule for how the class uses the notes is a blank line for you to write, or to leave blank. Every student in the examples is invented, and the examples say so on the page.
Who This Is For
Teachers, aides and specialists in grades K to 5 who want a simple way to write and share kind notes in the classroom. One classroom license.
