About this resource
Every other set in this collection prints a board the student walks to. This one prints no board at all: the same calm-down cue vocabulary, cut to a small card, punched near the top edge and threaded onto a one-inch book ring, so it travels on a lanyard or belt clip with whoever is wearing it — into the hallway, the cafeteria, specials, a fire-drill line, or anywhere a stationary board is not within reach.
The Cards
- Request cues (2) — calm corner, all done: the offer and the return to the class routine, flashed by the adult instead of handed over by the student
- Cue cards (12) — teddy bear, headphones, read, bubbles, music, crayon, puzzle, hug, notebook, sunglasses, drink, outside
Every picture and word is the same one the Calm-Down Choice Cards set already uses on its board, so a buyer who owns both sees the same card mean the same thing in both places. Cards are 2 inches square; a hole punched near the top edge, inside the dashed cut line, keeps the picture and the word clear of the ring.
The Ring Sheets
- Ring Sheet A and Ring Sheet B — six cue cards each, cut apart and punched, color or ink-saver
- Request Cues and Three Samples — the two request cards plus three cue cards already on Ring Sheet A, shown together so one sheet makes a complete starter ring
No board at all: every card prints at the same 2-inch size, so a card from any sheet sits on the ring next to a card from any other sheet without a size mismatch.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. The card sheets print on cardstock or plain paper, cut along dashed lines, and punch near the top edge for a one-inch book ring (sold separately). It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, paraprofessionals and specials teachers who already use (or are building) a calm-down system and need the same pictures to travel with a roving adult — the hallway monitor, the cafeteria duty staff, the specials teacher, the substitute — plus the case managers who need that use to show up as data, and the families who get the home page sent home.
More In The Collection
This is the fourth single in the Visual Supports Collection, alongside First-Then Board and Activity Picture Cards, Break Cards and Choice Board, and Calm-Down Choice Cards and Self-Regulation Board; more picture-card sets — schedule cards, routine strips, choice boards — are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same cards-plus-data shape.
