About this resource
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 19 pages
- 5 cut-apart ring cards, 2 inches square: the full five-step speech session routine (Therapy room, Warm-up game, Practice with cards, Break, Back to class), punched for a one-inch book ring
- Every card twice: a full-color set for the ring and a black-and-white ink-saver set for a spare ring or a second adult
- A "what each card shows, and what to say" reference printed right on each ring sheet, so the card, the picture and the spoken line never separate
- 12 blank ring cards with a type-in word line, for a step a different session routine needs or a reminder card of your own
- A how-to page: building the ring (cut, punch, thread, in step order), why the order matters on this ring, showing a step, carrying it across several rooms and students, what the Practice-With-Cards card stands for, a second ring or a spare, what this ring is and is not, sending it home and handing it off
- A Speech Session Ring Log (20 rows: one letter per step — independently, with a prompt, or not completed — each session the ring runs)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent-of-steps-independent graph
- A filled example — an invented student, one session and three weeks on the roll-up, every percent re-counted from its own row
- A family update page with the same five steps to point to at home and a week of home tries to initial
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional or substitute clinician carries the same ring the same way in another room
- A phrase bank: 18 lines in 5 groups (spoken lines for showing a card in order, written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 11 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, and a "what's next" back page
The posted strip-and-chart version of this same five-step routine stays on the therapy room door or in a session folder. This file prints neither: the same five routine cards, cut small, punched near the top edge and threaded onto a one-inch book ring, so the fixed order travels on an SLP's own lanyard or badge reel — into whichever room the next pull-out session happens in, with whichever student is being seen.
THE STEPS (reused verbatim from the posted version, same words and pictures)
1. Therapy room — the way into the room where the session happens
2. Warm-up game — a short warm-up activity before the practice block
3. Practice with cards — the FORMAT of the practice block, not any goal or skill; what is practiced is the therapist's own plan
4. Break — resting partway through or at the end of the session
5. Back to class — the way back to the classroom once the session ends
Unlike a bank of interchangeable cue cards, these five steps are not a choice to pick from — they happen in the same order every session, so the ring sheet prints all five cards once: five cut pieces, already at the collection's five-piece cutting floor, with nothing invented to pad it and nothing doubled that did not need to be.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. The card sheet prints on cardstock or plain paper, cuts along dashed lines, and punches near the top edge for a one-inch book ring (sold separately). It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
It is a way for an SLP to carry the same five-step order a posted strip already teaches, so it travels room to room and student to student, and to write down whether a step was completed without a prompt. It is not a therapy protocol, a treatment plan or a program of any kind, and it promises no outcome. It names no articulation target or goal area, supplies no prompt hierarchy, fading schedule or mastery rule, and never says what is practiced during the practice block. The goal line and the criterion field are blanks for your district's own wording and your team's own number.
Who This Is For
Speech-language pathologists who pull students from several rooms for a session and need the same fixed routine to travel with them rather than stay posted in one room, plus the paraprofessionals and substitute clinicians who need the routine on one hand-off page, and the families who get the update page sent home.
More In The Collection
This single sits alongside Speech Therapy Session Visual Schedule Cards (the posted strip and chart-sized cards for this same routine), Calm-Down Steps Wearable Ring Cards for Special Education (the same ring mechanic for a different fixed sequence), and Visual Timer Wearable Ring Cards for Special Education; more picture-card sets — schedule cards, routine strips, choice boards — are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same cards-plus-data shape.
