About this resource

Lined paper for handwriting, ready to print. This is 48 pages of primary handwriting paper for kindergarten through 2nd grade in five line widths, from 1 inch down to 1/4 inch. Each width comes in six layouts, so you can match the lines to the writing and change them when the writing changes. Type the name and date, or print the pages and write by hand.

EVERYTHING INSIDE (48 pages)

Built For The Child Holding The Page

Each student page has a "My name" line at the top, one short instruction with a pencil picture, and lines with room to write. Nothing on a student page is written for an adult. There is no score, no scissors and no glue, and no letters to trace. The line width is the teacher's choice, and the file does not say what age or grade a width is for.

Type In, Or Print

The name and date lines on every student page are type-in fields in any PDF reader, and so are the writing log, the family note, the para card's notes and the teacher's notes areas. The ruled lines on the student pages are for handwriting. Print at 100 percent with fit-to-page turned off, so one inch on the paper is one inch on the key page. The lines are black or gray, so the pages copy in black and white. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.

Who This Is For

Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms, self-contained and resource rooms, writing centers, and tutors who need primary lines in a choice of widths. Your district's own writing expectations decide how many sentences to ask for and which width a child uses.

What This Is, And What It Is Not

This is paper: lined, ready to print, and kept in one folder. It is not a handwriting curriculum. It has no letters to trace, no letter-formation steps, and no benchmark or grade-level line. The district's rule for choosing a width gets a blank line on the choose page, for you to write it in.
