Prefix, root or suffix? Big words are built from small parts, and knowing what the parts mean helps children work out new words. This 40-page Morphology Word Wall gives you three header posters, 40 word cards to cut and post, and the practice pages that turn the wall into something children use. Each card shows the word part, its meaning and two example words with the part picked out. Print what you need, or type into the pages first.

How To Use It
Hang the three headers, then post the cards under them in the order you teach. Start with a few and add as you go. Introduce one word part at a time: read the card, say what it means and find the part in the two example words. Write new word parts your class finds on the blank cards. Use the sort cards and mat, the build-a-word pages and the desk strips for practice, and the class tracker to see which part to teach again.
Built For The Child Holding The Page
Every student page has a big "My name" line, one short direction with a picture and room to glue or write. The three kinds of word part keep their color on every poster and card, so children learn where each one goes: prefixes at the start, roots in the middle, suffixes at the end. The cards use big type that can be read from the rug, and every card and strip comes in an ink-saver set.
Type In, Or Print
The name lines, the blank word cards, the class tracker, the note home and every notes area are type-in fields in any PDF reader. The posters and cards are print pages. You can also print any page and write by hand. Print at 100 percent with fit-to-page turned off. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
