About this resource
Looking for multiplication color by number sheets that work in any month? This set has 18 mystery pictures (a kite, a ladybug, an ice cream cone, a sailboat, a cupcake, a rocket, a tractor, a turtle, an airplane, a fish, an owl, a house, a submarine, a frog, a barn, a butterfly, a robot and a castle) and 579 multiplication facts in all. The child multiplies the fact in each part of the picture, finds the answer in the color key, and colors that part. When the last part is colored, the picture appears. Print and go, or type into the name line.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (39 sheets)
- 18 student sheets: 18 pictures in 3 sets, 6 for facts 0-5, 6 for facts 6-10 and 6 mixed, each picture filling the whole page and cut into 30 to 38 parts to color
- 579 multiplication facts: 183 in the facts 0-5 set, 202 in the facts 6-10 set and 194 in the mixed set, every fact different on its sheet
- A color key on every sheet with 5 to 7 colors; each color lists its answers (1 to 4 of them) and has the color word written under the swatch, so the page still works in black and white
- Within a picture, parts of the same color hold different facts that have the same answer (for example 3 x 4, 4 x 3 and 2 x 6 are all 12)
- 95 facts that have a zero and 75 that have a one, so the easy facts get practice too
- A count strip on every sheet: how many parts of each color the picture has, so a child can check her own coloring
- A times table helper sheet (0 to 10) to keep beside any page, and a helper sheet with two arrays, skip counting and 4 facts to try
- 6 answer-key sheets that show every finished picture, the answers for each color and every fact with its answer
- A tracker for all 18 sheets, a group tracker for 14 students, a filled example (an invented student) and a family sheet with 6 facts to try together
- A binder cover with a spine strip, 3 divider tabs, a What's Next sheet and Start Here
Three Sets
A small circle in the top corner means facts 0-5: both numbers are 0 to 5. A square means facts 6-10: one number is 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10. A triangle means mixed: any fact from 0 to 10.
How It Works
1. Pick a set and print a sheet. One short instruction on each: Multiply. Color by the key.
2. The child multiplies each part, finds the answer in the key under the picture, and colors that part.
3. Count the colors, check with the answer key, and write the date and how many were right on the tracker.
Built For The Child Holding The Page
A big "My name" line, big facts, big color swatches and a tip line that points to the times table. Every sheet arrives uncolored: nothing on a student sheet is printed in color except the key swatches. The answer keys and trackers are on separate teacher sheets. Every picture is drawn from plain shapes with a ruled frame around it, and every part is big enough for a young child's crayon and holds one fact.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
