About this resource
A picture for every position, not a word list — and every card is a small SCENE, not a single icon: one small object shown in, on, under, behind or next to a larger object, so a child who cannot yet read "the ball is under the box" can still see it.
WHAT IS INCLUDED — 19 pages, 342 type-in fields
Picture Cards
- 15 two-object scene cards in full color, each a cut-apart card of about 1.75 inches with the target position printed underneath in large type. They sit edge to edge on one page, so 6 straight cuts free the whole deck. In: a ball in a bucket, a ball in a basket. On: a ball on a box, a cat on a chair, a bird on a tree. Under: the same three pairs. Next to: those three pairs plus the bucket and ball. Behind: a ball behind a box, a cat behind a box, a bird behind a tree. Every one of the five positions appears on at least two different pairs, so no position is tied to a single picture
- The same 15 scenes again as an ink-saver set in pure black outlines, for the photocopier
- A note printed on both card pages naming the 2 objects a young child may name another way (ball, "soccer ball"; bucket, "pail") so the scoring rule is decided once, before the first probe
Probe And Track
- 3 quick picture probe forms (A, B, C), 5 scenes each, untimed, each scene marked correct / error / approximation for the position word — forms A, B and C together are the whole 15-scene bank with no scene repeated on more than one form
- Full-Deck Probe — all 15 scenes on one sheet, one row each, with a verbatim column for what was actually said
- Data Log — 17 rows: date, form, correct, out of, percent, notes
- Percent Graph — 14 probes across, 0–100 percent grid, a field for the team's own criterion
- Caseload Summary — 16 rows: student, baseline, current, trend, positions still missed, decision
Share And Write
- Practice at Home — a family update built from five of the same scenes used in session (one per position), a weekly practice table, and lines for position words a family heard outside of practice time
- Phrase Bank — 20 observable-language starters across 6 groups (accuracy, what was said, carryover, the log and graph, the caseload page, and comparing behind with next to)
- Filled Example — an invented student, eight probes, every percent re-counted from its own row
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, graph, caseload page, family page, and probe-form headers, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a norm-referenced or standardized test.
It carries no elicitation, cueing or modeling script. It does not decide what counts as a correct position word, a criterion, or a typical rate for positional concepts — every one of those is this clinician's own call, written once and reused every session. Pictures replace the objects a clinician would otherwise have to arrange by hand; they do not replace the clinician's scoring rule.
