About this resource
A picture for every possessive phrase, so a child who cannot yet read a word list has something to look at. Each card puts a person, or two, beside something they own, with the phrase printed under the picture: his ball, her kite, their gift. Twelve cards, three pronouns, four cards each, in color and again in ink-saver black and white.
WHAT IS INCLUDED — 19 pages, 346 type-in fields
Picture Cards
- 12 picture cards in full color, cut apart along dashed lines: 4 "his" cards (a boy or a man with an object), 4 "her" cards (a girl or a woman with an object), 4 "their" cards (two children, or a man and a woman, with an object). One pronoun to a column, so one straight cut down the page separates them
- The same 12 cards again as an ink-saver set in pure black outlines, for the photocopier
- A note printed on both card pages naming the 7 objects a child may call by another name (ball / soccer ball, backpack / bag, teddy / bear, bike / bicycle, cake / birthday cake, trophy / cup, gift / present), and the ways a child may answer the picture instead of the phrase: naming the object, naming the person, or naming both figures on a "their" card. The picture is the cue, not a rule about who owns what; the note says so
Probe And Track
- 3 quick probe forms (A, B, C), 6 cards each, 2 cards for each pronoun, untimed, each marked correct / error / approximation, with a line for what was actually said. Forms A and B together are the whole 12-card deck with no overlap; Form C re-mixes 6 of the same cards
- Full-Deck Probe: all 12 cards on one sheet, each with its own mark and verbatim line, plus a total for each pronoun and an overall total
- Data Log: 17 rows (date, form, correct, out of, percent, notes)
- Percent Graph: 14 probes across, 0-100 percent grid, a field for the team's own criterion
- Caseload Summary: 16 rows (student, pronouns practiced, baseline, current, trend, decision)
Share And Write
- Practice at Home: a family update with three of the same pictures used in session (one for each pronoun), a weekly practice table, and lines for phrases a family heard outside of practice time
- Phrase Bank: 18 observable-language starters across 5 groups (accuracy, what was said, carryover, the log and graph, the caseload page)
- Filled Example: an invented student, eight probes, every percent re-counted from its own row
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, graph, caseload page, family page and probe-form headers, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a norm-referenced or standardized test.
It carries no elicitation, cueing or modeling script. It does not decide what counts as a correct response, a criterion, or a typical rate; every one of those is this clinician's own call, written once and reused every session. The pictures replace the printed word list a child cannot yet read. They do not replace the clinician's scoring rule.
Who This Is For
Speech-language pathologists and special education teams with young or pre-reading students working on possessive pronouns or early morphosyntax, and the families who get the practice page sent home.
