About this resource
The store's speech data sheets track one student at a time. Its social skills sibling tracks a general friendship or conflict-resolution goal, written for a counselor, teacher or para. Neither is built for the narrow, real thing an SLP running a pragmatic language group actually needs: rating every student in a small group, on the same pragmatic language targets, from the same session — turn-taking, topic maintenance, initiating and responding to a peer, requesting clarification, and greetings or farewells.
This is the clipboard for an SLP running a pragmatic language group, as a fillable PDF. Type the roster, the target list, the rating scale, and the three code keys once, Save As per student, and pen the observation grid, checklist and tally marks during the group. Every line, box and cell is a type-in field; on a tablet the whole thing can be typed.
WHAT IS INCLUDED — 19 pages, fillable, 726 type-in fields
SETUP (5 pages)
- Which Sheet, and What This File Is Not — match the goal's wording to a sheet once; the bottom two rows say where a sound, structure or general social-skills goal belongs instead.
- How the Type-In Fields Work — ninety seconds of reading on what to type and what to pen.
- Pragmatic Language Target List and Rating Scale — six targets (turn-taking, topic maintenance, initiating, responding to a peer's initiation, clarification requests, greetings/farewells) the team defines for THIS student, plus a four-level rating scale.
- Group Setting, Prompt and Status Codes — six group-setting codes, five prompt-level codes, five progress-status codes.
- Caseload Roster — 15 rows: every student, the pragmatic target(s), which group, and the dates.
DATA SHEETS (5 pages, six data sheets counting the tracker)
- Peer Interaction Observation Grid — Group Setting — 8 rows, one per student in the group, rated on every target from the same session against the rating scale.
- Pragmatic Language Skill Checklist — 6 target rows plus a daily-total row, checked Monday through Friday, plus a bottom block for what made a target harder and what to try next.
- Frequency Tally Sheet — 6 target rows plus a total row, real-time tally marks for one student across one group session, for a goal that asks how often, not just whether.
- Individual Pragmatic Language Rating Sheet — 6 target rows plus a date row, across 8 sessions, so a trend shows on one line.
- Group Session Log — 12 rows: the activity, group members, setting and length of every small-group meeting.
TRACKING AND REPORTING (4 pages)
- Cumulative Tracker — one goal, thirty-six observations across three blocks. The date, setting and rating from each log, copied so the trend is on one line.
- Progress Graph — hand-plotted, aim line first. A rating is plotted at ten times its value.
- Session / Observation Notes — two entries per page. What was targeted, data, how the student responded, what happens next.
- Quarterly Progress Summary — 6 rows: baseline, current level from the tracker, a status code, and one sentence for the report.
HOME (1 page)
- Family Note — what was worked on in family words, something that went well with a peer in group, one thing to try at home, and a bottom half for family reply.
EXAMPLE (1 page)
- A group session, a frequency tally and eight rated sessions for an invented third grader (R.T.), filled in. The example shows the status and the plan coming from cells already written, not from how the group felt.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF. Open it in a PDF reader, click a line, a box or a cell, type, press Tab to move on, and Save As once per student. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT a Google Sheets file, a Google Doc, or an Excel workbook; it does not calculate or draw the graph. Prefer paper? Print it blank and pen the whole thing.
It is NOT a therapy program, not a curriculum of pragmatic language activities, not a screener, and not a tool that names a condition. No page decides what counts as mastery, what a rating level means, or which prompt to use; the SLP writes every one of those in, from the IEP goal and her own judgment. The sheets only make sure the number gets written down.
It is NOT this store's Speech Therapy Data Collection Sheets Editable (the general SLP caseload packet across every goal area, including individual articulation and language trials) and it is NOT the Social Skills Progress Monitoring and Peer Interaction Data Sheets Editable (a general, non-SLP friendship or conflict-resolution tool, not written for a language-specific goal). Both are named on the chooser page and the back page so a buyer does not mistake one for another.
If You Want More
For the general SLP caseload — attendance, six data sheets across every goal area, home note, carryover — see Speech Therapy Data Collection Sheets Editable. For a general friendship, conflict-resolution or cooperative-play goal not written as an SLP pragmatic-language goal, see Social Skills Progress Monitoring and Peer Interaction Data Sheets Editable. For a bilingual caseload, see Bilingual Speech Therapy Data Sheets Editable. For a phonological process across a class of sounds instead of pragmatics, see Phonological Process Progress Monitoring Editable.
Who This Is For
School-based SLPs and SLPAs running a pragmatic language group, and the special education teachers or paraprofessionals who co-lead or see the target skills show up (or not) outside the group.
