About this resource
The moving half of the prepositions shelf. Positional Concepts Picture Cards and Picture Cards 2 (sold separately) cover the fixed positions — in, on, under, behind, next to, above, below, between, in front of. This deck covers through, over, across and around: a small creature (an ant, a beetle, a worm or a cricket) moving past a landmark, with a directional arrow drawn right on the scene so a child who cannot yet read "the ant goes through the ring" can still see it happening.
WHAT IS INCLUDED — 19 pages, 321 type-in fields
Picture Cards
- 12 scene cards in full color, each a cut-apart card of about 1.8 inches with the target preposition printed underneath in large type. They sit edge to edge on one page, so 5 straight cuts free the whole deck. Through: an ant, a beetle and a worm each shown centered inside a ring buoy, a right-arrow badge beside it. Over: an ant above an oil drum, a beetle above a brick wall, a worm above a mountain, each flanked by an up-right and a down-right arrow badge showing the arc. Across: an ant, a beetle and a cricket each shown standing on a bridge at night, a right-arrow badge beside it. Around: an ant, a beetle and a worm each copied four times around a landmark (a golf flag, an oil drum, a barber pole) — the one scene type on this card page drawn as repetition instead of a single placed object, a curly-loop arrow badge marking it as motion, named plainly on the card page itself as a disclosed design choice, not hidden
- The same 12 scenes again as an ink-saver set in pure black shapes, for the photocopier
- A note printed on both card pages naming the 6 pictures a young child may name another way (cricket, "the insect, not the sport"; ring buoy, "life ring"; oil drum, "barrel"; brick wall, "wall"; flag, "golf flag"; barber pole, "pole") so the scoring rule is decided once, before the first probe
Probe And Track
- 3 quick picture probe forms (A, B, C), 4 scenes each, untimed, each scene marked correct / error / approximation for the preposition word — every form covers all four prepositions once (Form A is every ant scene, Form B every beetle scene, Form C mostly worm, with the one cricket scene standing in for the across variant worm does not have), and forms A, B and C together are the whole 12-scene bank with no scene repeated on more than one form
- Full-Deck Probe — all 12 scenes on one sheet, one row each, with a verbatim column for what was actually said
- Data Log — 17 rows: date, form, correct, out of, percent, notes
- Percent Graph — 14 probes across, 0–100 percent grid, a field for the team's own criterion
- Caseload Summary — 16 rows: student, baseline, current, trend, prepositions still missed, decision
Share And Write
- Practice at Home — a family update built from four of the same scenes used in session (one per preposition), a weekly practice table, and lines for prepositions of motion a family heard outside of practice time
- Phrase Bank — 19 observable-language starters across 6 groups (accuracy, what was said, carryover, the log and graph, the caseload page, and comparing a motion scene to a static position)
- Filled Example — an invented student, eight probes, every percent re-counted from its own row
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the log, graph, caseload page, family page, and probe-form headers, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document, and it is not a norm-referenced or standardized test.
It carries no elicitation, cueing or modeling script. It does not decide what counts as a correct preposition word, a criterion, or a typical rate for prepositions of motion — every one of those is this clinician's own call, written once and reused every session. Pictures replace the objects and the path a clinician would otherwise have to arrange or draw by hand; they do not replace the clinician's scoring rule.
