About this resource

Looking for rounding color by number sheets with a number line right on the sheet? This set has 12 student sheets, 12 pictures (a train, a castle, a school bus, a rocket, a cupcake, a robot, a butterfly, a house, an umbrella, a fish, a rainbow and a sailboat), 313 numbers to round in all. The child rounds the number in each part of the picture, finds the answer in the color key, and colors that part. When the last part is colored, the picture appears. Print and go, or type into the name line.

EVERYTHING INSIDE (30 sheets)

Three Sets

A small circle in the top corner means the nearest 10: two-digit numbers, rounded by looking at the ones digit. A square means the nearest 100: three-digit numbers, rounded by looking at the tens digit. A triangle means mixed: every number says "to 10" or "to 100" under it, so the child reads before rounding.

How It Works

1. Pick a set and print a sheet. One short instruction on each: Round to the nearest 10 (or 100). Color by the key.

2. The child reads each part, rounds the number with the number line and the rule under the picture, finds the answer in the key, and colors that part.

3. Check with the answer key, and write the date and how many were right on the tracker.

Built For The Child Holding The Page

A big "My name" line, big numbers, big color swatches and a number line to point at. Nothing on a student sheet is written for an adult; the answer keys and trackers are on separate teacher sheets. Every picture is drawn from plain shapes with a ruled frame around it, and every part is big enough for a young child's crayon and holds one number.

What This Is, And What It Is Not
