About this resource
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 21 pages, 235 type-in fields
- One Choice Board with a CHOICES panel and a MY CHOICE panel, plus two desk-size boards on one sheet for a folder or a second student
- 4 sensory break choice cards, 2 inches square, sized for velcro dots: headphones, bed, teddy bear, sit crisscross — with an at-a-glance reference table and two sample pairings to start from
- Every card twice: a full-color page and a black-and-white ink-saver page
- 12 blank choice cards with a type-in word line, for anything the printed set does not cover
- A how-to page: before the first day, the two moves every time, how many choices to offer, and what to do when a student changes their mind
- A Choice Log (16 rows: date, time, choices offered, choice made, made independently Y/N, initials)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent-made-independently graph
- A filled example — an invented student, one school week on the log and three weeks on the roll-up, every percent re-counted from its own row
- A family page with a home-size board and all five sensory break cards on one sheet
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional, a related-service provider or another classroom runs the same board the same way
- A phrase bank: 20 lines in 5 groups (spoken lines for the board, written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 10 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, and a "what's next" back page
NOT THE SAME PRODUCT AS OUR BREAK CARDS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION. That file is a request system: a card to ask for a break in the first place, a WAIT card, an ALL DONE card, and a 12-card bank of general break activities. This Sensory Break Choice Board has no request card — it is a direct 4-option board for picking one curated sensory-regulation choice once a break is already happening. Two pictures (headphones, bed) are shared with that file, on purpose, under the identical word — disclosed here so a buyer does not confuse the two or buy both expecting different content throughout.
NOT THE SAME PRODUCT AS OUR CALM-DOWN CHOICE CARDS FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION. That file is also a request system, built around asking for time in a physical calm-down corner, with its own 12-card choice bank. This board is not tied to any corner and asks for nothing first.
NOT THE SAME PRODUCT AS OUR SENSORY BREAK ROOM USE AND EFFECTIVENESS TRACKING LOG, OR OUR SENSORY PROCESSING AND REGULATION DATA SHEETS. Both are data-collection files with no picture cards or board. This is a picture-card choice board.
The Cards
- Sensory break choices (5) — headphones, bed, teddy bear, sit crisscross, bubbles
Every picture was chosen to be named in one word by a young child, in color AND in the black-and-white set. Headphones, bed and teddy bear are the identical picture and word already used elsewhere in this collection (Break Cards, Calm-Down Choice Cards, First-Then Board, the reward token boards) — one honest convention per picture, not a repackaged product. Bubbles (added Sep 27 2026) is the identical picture and word already used on our Reward Choice Board. The fourth card shows a seated, cross-legged figure and is named for what it actually shows, "sit crisscross," rather than "stretch" — the same picture was tried for "stretch" in an earlier product in this collection and read as sitting or meditating, not an active stretch, so it is named here for what a child actually sees.
The Board
- Choice Board — a CHOICES panel and a MY CHOICE panel with name and today fields.
- Two desk-size choice boards — two boards on one sheet, cut apart, for a folder or a second student.
The board carries no pictures, so it prints the same in color or black and white. There is no request card and no all-done pocket: nothing is being asked for and nothing ends — a student is simply offered real options and picks one.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the board's name field, the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. The card pages print on cardstock or plain paper and cut along dashed lines. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, paraprofessionals and related-service providers who build a real choice into a sensory break for early, pre-reading or emerging-language students, case managers who need that choice to show up as data, and the families who get the home page sent home.
More In The Collection
Part of the Visual Supports Collection, alongside Free Time Choice Board and Picture Cards, Recess Choice Board and Picture Cards, Snack Choice Board and Picture Cards, and First-Then Board and Activity Picture Cards; more picture-card sets are being added to the collection regularly, all on the same cards-plus-data shape. This board is also included in the Visual Supports Collection Bundle, which packages every single in the collection together at 35% off buying them separately (each board keeps its own file).
