About this resource
Print-and-go sensory diet visual cards for PreK to 3rd grade: 60 numbered picture cards of moves and sensory tools, a choice board, a day board and a blank planning page for your OT or team to fill in. Each card is one picture and the word for it, nothing more. Your OT and team decide which cards to use, for whom and how often.
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 31 pages
- 60 numbered move cards to cut, in 3 sets of 20 (5 across, 4 down, cut on the dashed lines): Move My Body (walk, run, frog jump, bunny hop, bear walk, climb, dance and more), Strong Body (carry books, carry a backpack, push a cart, sweep, bounce a ball, carry a box and more) and Quiet Moves and Tools (sit crisscross, teddy bear, headphones, blow bubbles, color, puzzle, look at a book and more)
- The same 60 cards in black-and-white ink-saver
- 20 blank cards on a page of their own: the student draws a move and writes its name
- A choice board with 6 slots and an ALL DONE pocket
- A day board with 4 boxes (morning, lunch, afternoon, home) for a card you place
- A sort mat: big moves and quiet moves, 12 boxes
- My Own Move: 3 boxes to draw and name a move
- My Moves Check: 20 circles (5 days, 4 times a day) for the student to color
- A blank planning page for one student: 9 rows for when and where, card numbers, who helps and your team's own words
- A class menu planner: 9 rows, 6 board slots and a place for your school's rules
- A card index: all 60 cards by number, so a team can write numbers instead of drawing
- A how-to page, a Moves Log (20 rows), a weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent graph
- A filled example: an invented student, one week on the log, three weeks on the roll-up and the sets of cards used
- A family page with 6 small cards to cut apart and a note home
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional or another classroom uses the same cards the same way
- A phrase bank: 23 lines in 6 groups (spoken lines for the cards and boards; written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 12 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page that maps every page, and a "what's next" back page
The Student Pages
Every student page has a "My name" line, one short instruction with a picture, big pictures and big rounded words, and room to place, color, draw or write. The student in the filled example is invented.
The Planning Pages
Every box on the planning page and the class menu planner is blank on purpose. They are working paper for the people who know the child. Type into them or print and use a pen.
How To Use It
1. Print and cut the move cards. 2. Your OT or team fills in the planning page and writes card numbers from the index. 3. Put out the cards your team chose; the student picks one for the choice board or the day board. 4. Write a row on the log each time a card is used.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the name lines, the planning pages, the log, the roll-up, the family page, the hand-off page and the blank cards, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Special education teachers, occupational therapists, paraprofessionals and classroom teachers who want picture cards and boards for a movement or sensory menu, and the families who get the home page.
