About this resource
Task boxes children can find and finish on their own. Big, clear labels for your boxes and shelf, schedule strips that show what is first and what is then, and a data sheet to keep track. Print, trim on the solid lines, and stick them on.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (31 pages)
- 26 capital letter labels, A to Z. 3 sheets, 9 to a sheet (one spare blank), each label 2.5 by 3 inches.
- 20 number labels, 1 to 20, each with its number word. 1 sheet, each label 1.875 by 1.8 inches.

- 2 student pages: My Task Boxes (check each box) and Match the Box (draw a line from the shape to the box).

How It Works
Stick a letter, number or symbol label on each box. Give the child a schedule strip, and match the same label on the strip. The child looks at the schedule, gets the box that matches, does the work and puts the box in the done bin. Use a first/then strip for children who need two steps at a time, and the 5-box strip when they are ready for more.
The Data Sheet
The data sheet has a line for the IEP goal. It is blank on purpose: copy the goal word for word from the child's IEP. Mark each box I (did it alone), R (needed a reminder) or H (needed help). The filled example uses one invented student, and the roll-up page adds up the week for a team meeting.
Built For Little Hands
This Is A Print-And-Cut Pdf With Type-In Lines
It is a PDF, not Google Slides, Docs or PowerPoint. You can type on the set-up page, the data sheet, the class tracker, the filled example's lines, the roll-up, the note home and the name lines on the student pages, or print them and write by hand. The label words cannot be changed; the labels, strips and tabs are for printing and cutting, and the blank labels are written by hand. It works offline in any PDF reader.
Who This Is For
PreK to 3rd grade classrooms, including self-contained and resource rooms, and anyone who runs independent work boxes or work stations.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
Labels, schedules and data pages for your own task boxes. It does not include the activities that go inside the boxes. How you run your boxes, and what your school or district requires for data and IEP goals, are separate.
