About this resource
Test encouragement notes for every desk: 96 different short messages, printed on cut-apart notes with a type-in "For" line, so you can type a name before you print or write it by hand. Two sets, K-2 and 3-6, in 4 shapes (desk strips, square notes, pencil cards and bookmark notes), plus 16 fun pun notes with a picture. 23 pages, no prep beyond trimming.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (23 pages)

- 16 fun pun notes, each with a picture ("Rock this test!", "Blast off to success!").
- 12 blank square notes and 8 blank desk strips with a type-in box, for the messages only you can write.
- A student page, A Note for My Desk, where each child writes a kind note to themselves and a friend.
- A "Testing Today" door sign with type-in subject and date.
- A test-week planner (5 days), a note log (18 rows) and a filled-in example log with invented students.
- A letter for families with 5 things to try at home.
- A starter bank of 13 sentence starters and 18 words that lift, for writing your own notes.
- Start Here with a table of which page holds which notes, a binder cover, spine and 4 divider labels, the terms of use and a thank-you page.
Type In, Or Print
Click the For line on any note and type a name, then print. Or print and write by hand. The notes have dark outlines and dark text, so they also copy in black and white or on colored paper. This is a fillable PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file.
Who This Is For
Classroom teachers, special education teachers, counselors and aides who want a kind word on every desk during test week, grades K-6.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
Short, kind messages and the pages to plan and track them. No candy or brand names to buy. The notes make no promise about scores, and this is not a test preparation program or advice on test anxiety. Check your school's and state's rules for what may be on a desk during a test. The example students are invented and are labeled that way on the page. Clip art by Whimsy Clips.
