About this resource
A Valentines Day crown that fits K-2 heads, with the pattern and writing pages to go with it, in one print-and-go unit. Choose from two crowns: a heart face crown (a tall smiling heart topper rising above the band) and a message crown made of candy-colored pieces that say YOU MELT MY HEART, BE KIND, BEST FRIEND and more. Each crown is 7 big pieces in a grid, so a child cuts long, straight lines, plus one curve around the heart topper. Children color the pieces, cut them out, lay each one on its number, then glue the tabs so each piece slides under the next. The last piece has a long slide tab: wrap the band around the child's head and glue it where it fits. The 7 pieces adjust from about 20 to 21 inches around. Every student page has one short instruction with a picture, so a paraprofessional can run the center from it too.
Then they make red and pink heart patterns to cut and glue, draw and write about My Valentine, and write kind words in hearts.
