About this resource
Visual schedule icons for the school day and the home day: 96 routine picture cards, in two sizes, with first-then boards, daily strips and a binder organizer to keep them in. Print, cut once, laminate, add velcro dots. Every card is labeled with what its picture shows.
Everything Inside
- 96 routine picture cards in five groups, each with its own ring color: Arrive and pack up (19: school, bus, car, backpack, coat, boot, door, teacher, desk, walk, wave, knock, carry, stand, sit, hug, smile, line up, go home), Learn at school (28: reading, gluing, notebook, journal, computer, library, math, scissors, crayon, marker, write, draw, cut, sing, talk, whisper, point, circle time, centers, calendar, art, music, quiet, wait, raise hand, listen, clean up, share), Move and play (21: park, jump rope, run, jump, march, hop, climb, slide, kick, throw, catch, dance, stretch, clap, swim, push, pull, lift, dig, recess, gym), Eat and take care (19: lunch, cup, fork, table, soap, sink, towel, nurse, doctor, glasses, mirror, tooth, wash hands, brush teeth, drink, pour, bathroom, snack, break) and Home routine (9: house, bed, pajamas, bath tub, cap, scarf, mittens, umbrella, sleep).
- 41 of the cards are clip-art pictures and 55 are action and routine pictures drawn for this set (stick-child figures, a toilet for Bathroom, kids in a ring for Circle time, a calendar page and more), so the verbs read as verbs.
- Two sizes. Large cards (2.4 by 2.2 inches): 8 sheets of 12. Small cards (1.24 by 1.44 inches): 3 sheets of 36 (the last sheet ends with 12 blank cards to add your own).
- A black-and-white ink-saver set of the small cards: 3 sheets of 36, the same 96 pictures for the photocopier.
- 2 sheets of blank cards (12 large and 36 small), each with a box to draw or paste a picture and a line to type or write the word.
- 3 first-then boards: First and Then with large slots and a tray of choices, First-Next-Then down the page, and First and Then with small slots and a tray of 15 choices. Each has a "My name" line and a check to color.
- 2 daily strips of 3 rows with 5 slots each (My School Day and My Day at Home), a check under every slot.
- An organizer set: a binder cover to slide into a clear pocket, a spine label in three widths (1, 1.5 and 2 inch binders) and 5 divider tabs, one for each group, each with a staggered tab and the group's cards listed.
- How to Fade the Schedule: a one-page teacher guide with 5 steps, from a full picture strip to a written list, with the pictures drawn in for each step.
- Teacher pages: Start Here, set-up (both card sizes at actual size), a picture index of all 96, a planner with 10 rows, a filled example for an invented child, a weekly roll-up with 14 rows, a note for home, a what-to-say bank, and a What's Next page.
- Terms of use and a thank-you page.
How To Use It
Print at 100 percent. Trim each sheet on its solid lines (the cards touch edge to edge, so each cut is one straight line across the sheet), laminate, and put a soft velcro dot on the back of each card. Put hook dots in the slots of a board or strip. Look at the schedule together, say what the first picture shows, and let the child do that job and take the card off. The small cards fit inside the strip slots; the large cards fit inside the large board slots. Print the divider tabs on cardstock and file the cards behind them.
Built For Little Hands
Big, clear pictures in full color, labeled in plain words, so a picture comes to mean one job. The student pages have a big "My name" line, one short direction with a picture, and room to put cards and color a check.
Print And Cut, With A Few Type-In Lines
The type-in lines (the blank cards, planner, roll-up, family note and divider notes) work in any PDF reader, or print and write by hand. This is a PDF; it is not a Google Slides or PowerPoint file, and the pictures, boards and cards themselves are not editable.
Who This Is For
PreK to 2nd grade classrooms, including self-contained and resource rooms, paraprofessionals, and families who want the same pictures at home.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
A classroom and home visual support and your own working notes. Your team's plan for a child comes first; this set does not replace it. The fade page is a menu of ways to make a schedule smaller, with a blank for your team's own plan. The roll-up only holds counts; what to do with them is your team's decision.
More In The Collection
Pair it with Visual Schedule To Do All Done | Picture Cards, 3 Boards, Checklists: its boards have slots of 1.5 by 1.84 inches, so the small cards from this file sit inside them. Also in the store: First Then Board and Activity Picture Cards, and Bathroom Visuals and Routine Sequence Cards. New products in this collection are added regularly.
