About this resource
Monday comes, and the homework is on a sticky note, a whiteboard and half a page of the newsletter. This puts the whole week on paper in one file: sheets you fill in, a reading log, a place for families to sign, and pages children write and color themselves.
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 19 pages
- A weekly homework sheet, Monday to Friday: 8 subject rows with a column for each day, a Due back box and a note for families
- My Homework This Week: a page a child fills in, with a big My name line, five day boxes (Monday to Friday) with a line for the homework and a Done box
- A weekly assignment sheet by subject for older students: 13 rows with Subject, Assignment, Given, Due, Done and Family Initials, and blank lines for your own late-work rule
- A homework menu: nine choice boxes you type, and three lines for a child to write which numbers they picked
- A weekly reading log: 7 day rows (Monday to Sunday) with Book or Page Read, Pages, Minutes and Family Initials, totals, a family signature line and a Book I want next line
- My Reading Week: a page a child fills in, 6 day rows with a book picture, a line to write the book and a star to color
- A parent signature page: 14 weekly rows with Week of, Parent or Guardian Signature, Comment and Teacher Initials
- My Homework Checklist: six picture rows for a child to color (planner, backpack, homework, book, family signed, brought it back) and a star
- My Homework Stars: five big stars (Monday to Friday), three faces to circle, a drawing box and a "I am proud that I" box
- A class turn-in tracker with a roll-up: 16 student rows by Monday to Friday, sheets turned in, and class totals
- A note home with blanks in your own words
- A phrase bank of 32 starters in 8 groups
- A filled example: six invented students and one week, a reading week for one invented child, every total re-added from its own row
- A binder cover, a spine label and 8 cut-apart tabs
- Start Here, a contents page with page thumbnails, and a "what's next" back page
Most weekly homework templates are one grid. This one also gives you the sheet a child writes on, the reading log, the signature page, the pages children color, and a way to count what comes back and tell families how it works.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the sheets, logs, tracker and note, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT a Google Slides, Google Docs or PowerPoint file, and you cannot drag the boxes around or restyle the pages.
It is the working paper for a weekly homework routine. It does not say how much homework to give, when it is due, or what happens when it is late. That is your classroom's and your school's rule, and it gets a blank line. The tracker counts sheets turned in; it does not score a child. No health information is filled in. The example students are invented and say so on the page. The only cutting is the 8 binder tabs on the last page.

Also In The Store
Reward coupons are in the Homework Pass, pocket labels and covers are in the Homework Folder Cover, a longer reading routine is the Reading Log With Parent Signature, and a one-student completion log kept by an adult is the Homework Tracker. This file is the weekly sheets themselves.
Who This Is For
Kindergarten through 8th grade classroom teachers, special education teachers, paraprofessionals and substitutes who send homework home each week, and the families who sign it.
