About this resource
Print-and-go World Kindness Day pack for grades K-5 (World Kindness Day is November 13, and the pages work any kindness week). 24 kind act cards to cut, thank-you notes to write and cut, a class kindness tracker, a poster to color, a reflection sheet, and a log, roll-up and family page for the adults. All text and drawn pictures; no prep beyond cutting.
EVERYTHING INSIDE — 29 pages
- 24 kind act cards to cut, 12 a page, 4 across and 3 down, cut on the dotted lines. Each has a number, a picture and the act in words, in four places: with friends, in my class, at home, in the world (wave to a friend, tidy my desk, set the table, plant a seed and 20 more)
- 8 blank cards: draw your own kind act and write the words
- My Kind Act Plan: glue 3 cards (first, next, last) and write when, for whom, and how I will know I did it
- Thank-You to a Friend and Thank-You to a Helper: two note pages with room to write and draw
- 12 thank-you notes to cut, 4 across and 3 down, each with a heart, a "for" line and a "from" line
- Thank-You Words: 12 picture sentence starters, plus a line for my own
- Kindness Poster: BE KIND in big letters with pictures to color in
- Kindness Chain: 6 chain links to write a kind act on, cut, loop and glue
- Our Class Kindness Tracker: a wall chart of 25 hearts (5 days by 5 weeks) and a class goal line
- My Kindness Week: 5 days, a heart to color each day and a line for who it was for
- How Did It Feel?: circle a face, draw, and write on primary handwriting lines
- How to Use It (two ways to run a kindness day and how to show it on a wall)
- A Kind Acts Log (20 rows: date, kind act, where, initials)
- A weekly roll-up (8 weeks) with a percent graph
- A filled example: an invented student, one week on the log, three weeks on the roll-up and where the acts happened
- A family page with 6 small cards to cut apart and a note home
- A hand-off page so a paraprofessional or another classroom runs and logs it the same way
- A phrase bank: 23 lines in 6 groups (spoken lines for the day; written starters for the log, the roll-up and the note home)
- A storage and binder label sheet: 12 labels and a spine strip
- Start Here, a contents page that maps every page, and a "what's next" back page
The Student Pages
Every student page has a "My name" line (the cut pages are on their own), one short instruction with a picture, big drawn pictures and big rounded words, and room to color, draw or write. Cut pages have 5 or more big pieces edge to edge, so each cut is one straight line. The acts are everyday ones from the classroom, home and the neighborhood. The student in the filled example is invented.
A Kindness Day, Or A Kindness Week
Each child picks three act cards, glues them on the plan, does them, writes a thank-you note, and the class colors a heart on the tracker for every kind act it sees. Stretch it over five days with the week page and the reflection sheet. Your classroom's own rules come first, and the blank cards hold any act that is not printed here.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
It is a fillable PDF: type into the name lines, the log, the roll-up, the family page and the hand-off page, or print and use a pen. It works offline with no account or subscription. It is NOT an editable online slideshow or word-processor document.
Who This Is For
Teachers, counselors, special education teachers and paraprofessionals who want a concrete, text-based set of pages for World Kindness Day or a kindness week, for grades K-5, and the families who get the home page.
