About this resource
Zones of Regulation activities for kindergarten and 1st grade: four new cut-and-paste activities built around the 4 color zones (blue, green, yellow and red), with big pictures, one short direction per page, and pieces sized for small hands. This is Set 2. None of its activities repeat Set 1.
WHAT'S INSIDE (32 pages)
- Build a face: cut out eyes and mouths and glue them onto a blank face for each color (Blue: tired, Green: happy, Yellow: worried, Red: mad), then color the face. Two faces and 6 pieces per page; 2 pieces are left over.
- Feelings stories: 4 picture stories to put in order with First, Next, Then, Last (my tower fell, no recess today, a loud alarm, I did my puzzle). Two stories per page, 8 pieces to cut.
- Color puzzles: one 6-strip puzzle for each color. The strips are numbered 1 to 6 and printed out of order, and the mat shows the faint picture.
- My calm toolbox: 8 calm choices (blow bubbles, smell a flower, stretch, draw a picture, take a walk, hug myself, rest my head, sing a song). The child picks their own, with a box to draw their own idea.
- A Start Here teacher page and an answer key.
- Ink-saver copies of all 14 student pages.
- A "What's next" back page with credits and your license.
Two Levels
Build a face, feelings stories and the calm toolbox come in two levels, marked with a small shape so children don't compare:
- Starting (circle): a faint copy of each answer is printed in its box, so the child matches picture to picture.
- Building (square): the same page with empty boxes.
Made For Small Hands
- Pieces sit edge to edge, so every cut is one straight line. Every cutting page has at least 5 pieces.
- Each student page has a name line and one short direction with a picture. The feelings faces are drawn in one friendly style.
