About this resource
Assignments come from six classes, and the missing ones are the ones nobody can find on Friday. This editable PDF keeps every assignment, its due date and its status in one place, adds up the missing work each week, and gives you a family letter to send home.
EVERYTHING INSIDE (21 pages)
- A multi-class log: class, assignment, due date, three status boxes (Not started, In progress, Turned in), grade and notes, with room for 15 assignments.
- A filled-in multi-class log with an invented student and class, so you can see how a week looks.
- Six class logs, one for each class period, each in its own color, with 13 assignment rows and a notes box.
- A weekly missing-work summary: assignments, turned in, not turned in and a plan to catch up for each period, with a total row. A filled-in version is included.
- A long-term project tracker: seven milestones from picking the topic to turning it in, a Done box for each step, and two rows for your own steps.
- A student self-check with four lines to answer yes or not yet, and five lines for the next step.
- A family update letter with a missing-work table of six rows, room for questions, and a signature line.
- A phrase bank of 8 sentence starters in 4 groups (missing work, next steps, thank you, check-in), each ending in a blank, plus 7 lines for your own starters.
- A binder cover with a spine, and 8 divider tabs (Start, Multi-Class, Class Logs, Missing Work, Projects, Self-Check, Family, Examples).
- Start Here, a how-to page with a line for your school's late-work rule, the terms of use, and a thank-you page with credits.
How To Edit
Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview or your browser. Click a line or a box and type. Save As to keep a clean blank copy for next week. This is a fillable PDF, not an online tracker: nothing to log into and nothing to unlock. A check box is a small box you type an X into.
Print Tips
Print on letter paper at 100 percent. The lines and boxes are dark, so the pages photocopy in black and white. Print the binder cover, spine and tabs on cardstock.
Student Names Stay Private
Not A School Or District Policy
This is a set of forms. It does not set grades or the late-work rule. You write your school's rule on the how-to page, and the district's rule has its own blank line.
Who This Is For
Middle and high school special education and resource teachers, case managers, and the aides who check assignments with students each week.
What This Is, And What It Is Not
A set of fillable forms for tracking assignments. The example student, teacher, class and assignments are invented, and each example page says so in a footnote. It is not a gradebook and it does not calculate grades.
